Hey!

This may seem a little different, but I’m stepping out on faith. My heart has always been to help mothers, and I’ve taken a big step to do just that–I launched Elevate Maternity.

This year I completed programs to become a Postpartum Nutrition Coach, Fertility Health Coach, and Naturopathic Practitioner.

My goal is to support mothers as they navigate the complex journey of fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum, offering not only doula support and coaching, but a holistic approach to preparing their bodies for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum mentally, emotionally, and nutritionally.

As my friends and family, I know you will be rooting for me in my new endeavor and for that, I am grateful and appreciate it more than I could ever express.

I imagine that some of you may need help in this area or know someone that may be going through this journey feeling overwhelmed and unsure right now and just needs someone to talk to.

I went through that same thing in my pregnancies and postpartum and want to help others work through it because I saw the light at the end of the tunnel and came out on the other side.

Becoming a mom was tough for me. My mom moved out of state when I was pregnant with my first child. Yes, I had friends and family, but I didn’t have a coach to guide me in achieving my goals for birth and postpartum.

With my second birth in 2008, I wound up being induced without sufficient information, and after the birth, I struggled with autoimmunity in postpartum.

Looking back, having a coach would have made a world of difference—someone to help me navigate the overwhelm, educate me, and offer the support I needed when things got difficult.

In pregnancy and childbirth, not all doctors and nurses are the enemy.

As a doula, it is my responsibility to consider what my client’s OB or nurse may have experienced before coming into my client’s room.

They may push for their patient to have a more medicalized birth because it's something they can control and better manage the outcome of when they weren't able to do the same for the family in the next room.

Not all doctors and nurses are the enemy. Sometimes, they could use a little bit of understanding.
