💙🎉 Thank you for celebrating with us in Pasadena!

Legacy Community Health is grateful to everyone who joined us for the grand opening of the Legacy Pasadena Southmore Clinic. It was a special day filled with community, connection, and excitement as we officially opened a space designed to serve Pasadena families for many years to come.

The celebration brought together neighbors, community leaders, partners, and Legacy team members to mark the opening of a new two-story clinic offering primary care for adults and children, OB/GYN, behavioral health, imaging, and supportive services, all in one place.

This clinic is the result of planning, collaboration, and a transformative partnership with Houston Methodist, including a historic investment supporting new health facilities in both Pasadena and Acres Homes.

Legacy Pasadena Southmore represents more than a new building. It reflects Legacy’s commitment to expanding access to affordable, compassionate care and meeting people where they are, regardless of insurance or ability to pay. Thanks to strong partnerships and years of planning, Pasadena now has a new healthcare home built with the community in mind.

We’re thankful to everyone who helped make this milestone possible and to those who came out to celebrate with us. We’re excited to begin welcoming patients and continuing to care for families across Pasadena.

💙 We look forward to seeing you at the clinic and continuing to grow together as a community.

💉💙 Healthy kids start with trusted care and timely protection.

This World Immunization Week, we’re highlighting how routine childhood vaccines help protect children, and the communities they grow up in. Staying on schedule with immunizations helps prevent illnesses that can be especially serious for young children.

Trusted care teams, including pediatric providers and pharmacists, partner with parents to make vaccine decisions feel clear, informed, and supported. When families have access to trusted information and care, children are better protected.

At Legacy Community Health, we’re here to support families with education, access, and care they can rely on, so parents can feel confident about their child’s health.

💙💉 Protecting your child’s health starts with prevention.

During World Immunization Week, we’re reminding families that vaccines are one of the most effective ways to protect children from serious, preventable illnesses, from infancy through the school years.

Vaccinations help children stay healthy so they can grow, learn, and thrive. For many families, caring for children means balancing home traditions, routine checkups, and guidance from trusted healthcare providers, and vaccines are an essential part of that care.

At Legacy Community Health, our pediatric teams work closely with families to answer questions, track immunization schedules, and make sure children stay up to date year round.

Women’s heart health deserves more than one month of attention ❤️🩺

American Heart Month may have passed, but heart health is something women, especially Black women, think about every day. High blood pressure continues to affect Black women at higher rates, often with fewer opportunities for early diagnosis and treatment. That’s why Legacy Community Health keeps the conversation going year-round and brings education and screenings directly into our clinics.

High blood pressure often develops quietly, without symptoms, yet over time it can lead to serious health complications. Many women are also surprised to learn how closely diabetes and high blood pressure are connected. When both are present, they can place extra strain on the heart, kidneys, and blood vessels, making early awareness and care even more important.

Knowing your numbers, building healthy routines, and staying connected to care can make a meaningful difference. Legacy’s care teams are here to provide information, screenings, and compassionate support that empowers women to take charge of their health.

Your heart works hard for you every day, caring for it should feel just as important.

💙👶 Supporting moms, babies, and families, together.

Legacy was proud to join the March of Dimes Mama Talks event once again, connecting with families and sharing resources that support healthy starts and strong futures. During the event, we welcomed 34 families and distributed essential items to help meet every day needs.

Thanks to our team and generous partners, families received:

🛍️ 200 bags of shelf stable food,
🧸 200 bags of diapers and wipes, and
💜 100+ additional packages of diapers and wipes, donated by the Delta Sigma Theta Bay Area Houston Alumnae Chapter.

Beyond supplies, our team shared information about Legacy’s clinics and programs designed to support parents and caregivers, including:

✅ Early Childhood Development (ECD) classes focused on children’s growth and milestones
🔗 https://www.legacycommunityhealth.org/ecd/

✅ Becoming a Mom (BAM), offering education and support during pregnancy and early parenthood
🔗 https://www.legacycommunityhealth.org/public-health/becoming-a-momcomenzando-bien/

We also shared state Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) resources and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) developmental milestone information to help families feel informed and supported.

Because caring for families means more than one visit, it’s about showing up with resources, education, and compassion every step of the way.

To our donors, partners, and collaborators: your support makes these connections possible and helps build healthier, more resilient futures across the communities we serve.

High blood pressure often gives no warning — and it’s putting Black women at serious risk. 💙🩺

High blood pressure affects many Black women, often without noticeable symptoms. Even when you feel fine, hypertension can quietly strain the heart, kidneys, and blood vessels over time. That’s why Legacy Community Health continues to raise awareness and bring health education and screenings directly into our clinics, especially during moments like American Heart Month.

For women living with diabetes, the risk of high blood pressure is even higher. When these conditions show up together, they can make it harder for the body to stay healthy. The good news? Early care and small daily habits can make a meaningful difference.

Ways to support your heart and overall health
🥗 Choose meals that help keep blood sugar steady
💧 Drink water throughout the day
🚶🏾‍♀️ Move your body in ways you enjoy
😌 Take time to rest and manage stress
🩺 Stay on top of regular checkups and screenings

Legacy’s care teams are here to help Black women understand their risks, ask questions, and take steps that support long term health. You deserve care that listens and empowers you.

💙 Screening saves lives and it starts with a conversation.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and all month long, Legacy Community Health has been hosting community tabling events in our clinics to talk with patients about colorectal cancer prevention and screening.

Colorectal cancer is one of the deadliest cancers in the U.S., but when it’s caught early, it’s highly treatable, with survival rates as high as 90%. The challenge is that many people don’t get screened because the disease often shows no early symptoms.

Through our tabling events, Legacy teams are sharing information, answering questions, and helping eligible patients access no cost at home screening kits, making prevention easier and more accessible.

📍 Our final tabling event takes place today, March 31, 2026, at Legacy Baytown Garth.
If you’re 45 or older, or just want to learn more about screening options, this is a simple step that can make a big difference for your health.
