The GirlTrek Black Maternal Health Awareness Walk, presented by the HCPC Healthy Women Task Force Team, was held on April 12, 2025 at Eastside Park in Paterson.

More than 40 community partners and local residents attended to walk in solidarity for Black maternal health.

The speaking program featured inspiring remarks from two Black women sharing their lived experience: Ms. Amy Allen, HCPC GirlTrek Community Champion and founder of Let’s Walk; and Ms. Janice Rainford.

Personal Highlight: It was powerful to see so many women gather together in solidarity for Black maternal health – even freezing rain couldn’t keep us away!

🌞 Good Morning from HCPC! 🌞

Today, Anthony made a special home visit to deliver and install an air conditioner for community member living with type 2 diabetes.

We first connected with them through a community outreach event at La Plaza. His home health aide voiced concern about him living without AC — a serious health risk given his condition.

Thanks to the HCPC Patient Support Fund, we were able to respond quickly.

👏 Huge shoutout to Anthony and Hackensack Medical Student Jude for delivering and installing the unit with care and compassion!

Our community member was deeply grateful — and we’re proud to be part of a team that truly puts patients first. 💙

🚼💙 HCPC at WIC – Community Outreach in Action! 💙🚼

Our team had a great time connecting with families during our community tabling at the WIC office — sharing resources, answering health questions, and supporting parents in need.

🎗️ HCPC in the Community! 🎗️

We were proud to support the Mammography in Motion event by setting up an outreach table and connecting people to critical health services:

👩‍⚕️ 15 women received mammograms
🔹 14 uninsured received FREE screenings
🔹 1 insured

With Screen NJ, we provided resources and education to individuals on cancer prevention and early detection.

North Hudson, helped screen 50+ people for blood pressure and glucose — taking important steps toward chronic disease prevention.

💕 Big shoutout to CHW Jenny for dropping off rocking chairs today for one of our incredible Maternal Child Health Program members — made possible through the HCPC Patient Support Fund!

Special thanks to for donating a baby dining chair 🍼💖

Her journey through the program may be complete (congrats on graduating! 🎓), but our support doesn’t stop there. Her beautiful twin girls are thriving, and we’re still here to answer questions and share helpful resources whenever she calls.

And thank you Andres for helping carry that big box — teamwork makes it all possible! 🙌

Glucose & blood pressure screenings

Health insurance info & community resources

Giveaways and much more!

Free cancer screenings (mammograms, lung & colorectal) are available for eligible individuals with pre-registration.

🌟 Just a moment of gratitude and joy from the HCPC Team! 🌟

Two amazing members from our Maternal Child Health Program received strollers and car seats today through the HCPC Patient Support Fund — and their smiles said it all! 😊💖

A huge thank you to:

📦 for lending a hand with the boxes
👶 for donating adorable baby clothes

Both moms are feeling empowered, planning to return to work soon, and their little ones are growing fast and strong!

Also, the emergency baby car seats are now back and ready for the next family in need. ✔️💺

🚶‍♂️✨ We were able to deliver a walker that was generously donated by one of our amazing Community Health Workers—to one of our members who's been managing with two canes due to a dislocated disc in his back.

He was incredibly grateful to receive this support through HCPC, and this walker is already making a big difference in his daily mobility and comfort!

Huge shoutout to Jenny for the thoughtful donation 💕 Your kindness is changing lives!
