My kids and I were enjoying gelato on the river bank today when we noticed a little boy throwing rocks at a goose. I immediately felt this surge of protection for the goose rise up within me as well as anger that this boy and his parents had no concern or regard for the wellbeing of another living being that has the same right to exist and enjoy life on this planet as we do.

Sacred rage, anger doesn’t have to be big and dramatic. It can often times feel like just having a voice to say something when we witness an injustice instead of remaining silent.

I hear the “it takes a village” statement a lot around raising kids, but I think most people say it around support for exhausted parents instead of accountability to make sure our kids don’t turn into s**tty adults.

However you treat a goose tells me a lot about how you will treat other people later. We are all kin. We are all connected.

I grew up in a religious home. Today would have marked getting up to a bountiful Easter basket full of chocolate eggs and jelly beans, followed by putting on my new easter dress and hat and going to church to hear about Jesus and his resurrection from the tomb. The themes are beautiful. Death, life, and rebirth.

But as I have deepened my studying and learning, I began to learn about the stories that predate the story of the cross. The story of Inanna. The oldest written goddess myth. Inanna is called to listen to the great below to gain wisdom. To have an understanding of death, the hidden, the unseen, to have greater wisdom and understanding. She begins her descent to attend the funeral of her sisters husband, a death that caused, and as she passes through each of the 7 gates she is stripped of one garment or piece of jewelry, symbols of her power. She is then hung on a meat hook to die. She hangs for three days. All is Dark and there is no hope. There is mourning. Nothing grows. All is bleak and barren. And then a miracle is granted. She comes back to life and begins her ascent. Life comes back. A reminder that death is just a veil and there is emergence and life and light on the other side. We also see this pattern in the spiral that predates the cross as we know it. Symbolic of life, death and rebirth in continual cycle. So how will I celebrate today? With my hands in the dirt, offering new seeds to the earth and requesting her aid in our growth and harvest this year. Thankful that the soil returns fertile to us each year. Thankful that death does not have victory. Wishing you a beautiful day as you reflect on these themes in whatever ways feel meaningful and resonant to you. 💜

Why are we taught these are weeds and to get rid of them? Did you know that wild violets and dandelion make a wonderful lymphatic massage oil? I gathered these from our yard today and will let them wilt for the next 24 hours before turning them into a lymphatic massage oil. What do these three things have in common?

In today’s session, I noticed very little energetic flow on my clients outer left thigh while energy testing. This is where it gets fun.

Here’s my process when I detect something:

What side of the body, is it yin or yang?
What is the emotional correspondence of this area of the body, as well as the meridian that runs through this area?
What are the physical manifestations we see associated with this?

The left side of the body is the feminine, or yin energy. The point we were on is gallbladder meridian.

This is where I start to ask the questions - do you have digestive issues/ have difficulty going to the bathroom? Do you have chronic headaches?

Lo and behold yes and yes.

Ok clear culprit gallbladder.

Then from an emotional standpoint - gallbladders yang energy of anger, frustration, irritability, impatience and feeling stuck. It’s a yang meridian, but showing imbalance in the feminine yin receptive side of the body, so would question- where are you maybe not allowing yourself to receive, to be receptive and it’s causing frustration and bitterness and then physically manifesting as constipation (stuck energy that hasn’t been integrated) and headaches (clouding your thinking)

It’s all connected. When we look for the patterns, we can see how what’s manifesting energetically eventually manifests in the physical plane.

I am currently in year one of Eden Energy Medicine training, a powerful modality that harnesses the power and energy of our hands, of touch, to gently detect imbalances in the meridians, chakras, radiant circuits, and more. The body knows how to self correct and heal. Illness and disease starts in the energetic field before it manifests physically, so by working with your bodies energies we can work to prevent as well as gently correct energies before they get stuck and cause blockages and illness. Eden energy also focuses on joy and the energies of love. And what I love about a session is as I find things that are calling for correction, I also get to do energy corrections right along with you and experience the energy work on myself. After a session, I review which organs, meridians, and systems need extra attention and give you very simple practices to do on your own to help reinforce the work we did together. In this clip, I break down what I track in a session and what to expect. The year one modalities are incredibly potent I can’t imagine how year two will go!

I felt it was important to share why I’m so passionate about somatic work and specifically Sacred Rage work. Not just another white bitch going through her wellness era 😆 this literally saved my current marriage and also brought me back to my life when I was experiencing dissociation, severe mood swings, lethargy, and coming out of a deep functional freeze.
