This year, a dream of mine came to life. 🌿

Out of a deep passion for healing, I founded Discovery Hope, a nonprofit dedicated to reducing human pain and suffering through the power of psychotherapy and mental health treatment.

Our heart is for the most vulnerable—children and families in the foster and adoption system, those carrying the weight of severe trauma, and individuals struggling with substance abuse, eating disorders, or deep attachment wounds.

We pursue this mission in two key ways:
1️⃣ Equipping therapists through scholarships for advanced training
2️⃣ Expanding access to care with free or reduced-cost therapy for families in need

Starting this nonprofit has been one of the most meaningful steps of my journey. But to grow this work and reach more lives, we need your support. 💙

Please join Discovery in a toy drive for Bloom, a nonprofit organization that provides clothes, books, and toys for foster youth in the area. Bloom is located in Fayetteville, and has a fantastic facility where foster kids come to “shop” for clothes several times a year, totally free to the families that they serve. They rely on donations from our community, and we are excited to partner with them this holiday season to collect new, unwrapped toys and toiletries for kids in need. Let’s rally that generous Christmas Spirit and make a difference in our community! My hope and prayer is that these bins are OVERFLOWING with toys by December 13th, which is the deadline to contribute.

🎊We are absolutely thrilled to announce the GRAND OPENING of our newest counseling office in Newnan! 🎊
 
Kristian May, LMFT, our Partner and Clinical Director at Discovery Compass, specializes in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an attachment-based approach that helps individuals, families, and couples understand and improve their emotional connection with themselves and others.  She believes that secure emotional connections are the foundation for healthy relationships and personal wellbeing. Kristian is passionate about creating meaningful relationships within the community and developing clinicians who are adept at navigating pain and suffering. She is dedicated to training up the next generation of master-level therapists, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and empathy needed to make a significant impact.  
 
While our primary focus is on couples and family counseling, we also provide a welcoming space for individuals with diverse needs and concerns. Our team at Discovery Compass offers a blend of therapeutic approaches, including Gottman, EFT, Attachment, and Family Systems, ensuring that we can cater to a wide range of situations and challenges.

Holiday Headwear Day! We have reached the end of Spirit Week, but that doesn’t mean we will stop having fun around here. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this crazy time of year a blast! We really do have the best clients and staff. A huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our clients and staff who donated to our toy drive! Bloom picked up 3 large bins overflowing with toys yesterday. Because of your generosity we were able to collect over 100 toys for youth in foster care this Christmas season. Way to make a difference!
