It’s okay to ask for help and it’s also okay if it doesn’t come easily.

Unresolved trauma can contribute to seeking healing through unhealthy decisions. Emotional affairs don’t start with betrayal. They begin with boundaries being crossed• Emotional affairs are frequently minimized. Though the experience is just as significant and painful as the experience from physical affairs.

1) Secrecy increases — hiding texts, deleting messages, or taking calls privately

2) Emotional energy shifts — you confide in the other person instead of your partner

3) You feel distant at home — less communication, less connection with your partner

4) You seek validation elsewhere — turning to someone else for emotional support or affirmation

5) You fantasize about the other person — imagining life or connection beyond friendship

6) Your actual relationship gets neglected — less time, effort, and presence in your primary relationship

7) There’s a “special” connection — inside jokes, constant messaging, or emotional closeness that crosses boundaries
