Our Story
April Anderson, MA, CCC-SLP, CLC is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the DC area with a specialty in pediatric feeding disorders. She has experience working with children with a variety of speech and language disorders, although has developed a special interest in children with feeding disorders. April has worked with infants and children of all ages both at home and in the clinic with feeding and swallowing issues such as accepting different textures, transitioning to solids, correcting oral motor difficulties, and children diagnosed with tongue ties, as well as infants with special needs like cleft palate, feeding tubes, autism, and children with Down syndrome.
April is also a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and helps educate and support families with a variety of breastfeeding needs. She loves to work with families as they work through their breastfeeding issues, whether those issues are a simple as helping latch in the first few weeks after birth or as complex as introducing breastfeeding to a previously tube-fed child. She has been published in the Washington Parent magazine and written for the American Speech Language Hearing Association’s (ASHA) Leader Blog, and spoken at various events including the national ASHA Convention.
