The conversation has come up how what I do is different than other modalities that help trauma.
The goal is for one to feel safe in their body!
I’ll leave this here ⤵️
EMDR vs. Body Code
Different paths. Different nervous system experiences.
Modalities like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing has helped many people process trauma, especially PTSD.
EMDR works by activating traumatic memories in a controlled way while using bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping, etc.) to help the brain reprocess them.
For some people, this is life-changing.
For others, revisiting traumatic memories can feel intense or dysregulating.
Both experiences are valid.
💜 How Body Code is Different
Body Code takes a different approach.
Instead of revisiting or reliving trauma,
we communicate with the body’s subconscious patterns to identify:
• trapped emotions
• inherited trauma
• energetic imbalances
• subconscious stress loops
The goal isn’t to re-experience the event.
The goal is to gently identify and release the energetic imprint the event left behind.
No storytelling required.
No detailed recounting.
No reliving.
Just awareness, identification, and release.
💜 The Core Difference
EMDR:
Processes trauma through revisiting and reprocessing memory pathways.
Body Code:
Addresses the stored energetic imprint without reactivating the memory.
💜 Important Truth
There is no “better.”
There is only: What feels safe for your nervous system right now?
Some people are ready to process memories directly.
Some need a gentler doorway.
Some benefit from both at different stages.
Healing should not retraumatize you.
It should feel supportive, empowering, and resourcing.
What are your experiences?
