For a long time, I thought moving fast meant I was driven, successful, “on top of it.”
But underneath that hustle was a nervous system stuck in survival mode—believing that if I didn’t keep going, everything might fall apart.
The urgency wasn’t ambition.
It was old wiring.
It was a nervous system that had learned chaos = safety and stillness = danger.
A few ways I help clients (and myself) work through this:
✨Practice slowing decisions. Pause before saying yes. Notice the body’s response before reacting.
✨Build safety into stillness. Take 2 minutes to sit with the discomfort of “nothing happening”—and remind your body it’s okay to be, not just do.
The truth is: real ambition is sustainable. Urgency burns you out.
And your healing deserves a pace that honors your body, not just your mind.
