It’s funny how life works out. Today used to be a day I disliked so much. I felt like the day was very commercialized(and I still do). A year ago this day turned to become the most blessed day!

Happy kidney-versary! It’s officially one year since the transplant and what a beautiful year it’s been. Alhamdulilah, the kidney is going strong and I’m doing well. Everyday I walk in gratitude and remembrance of the blessings God continues to send my way. Even through moments of struggles and moments of defeat, I’m thankful for my support system that has always been by side. 🤲🏽🤲🏽🤲🏽

Thank you to everyone who has been through this journey with me and have sent their prayers my way. Celebrating today and everyday.

I have been so blessed with my living donor being so able to donate and willing to. It’s not an easy task and I will forever be thankful!

One way; I want to share my gratitude is by sharing other people’s story and need for kidney transplant. Hopefully it’ll help them find a person open to donating.

Update time:

It’s been two months since my transplant and the journey has been a roller coaster. In the beginning, it was tough to adjust to being taken care of, to the pain, to timed medication, to every week doctor and blood work appointment. I have to thank God, my family, and friends who helped through that process.

I’m so thankful, grateful, and blessed to my donor. This new kidney is giving me a new life and I’m already feeling so much better. Yes, I got two uti’s and that has been annoying to say the least. However, overall I’m feeling great.

I will say the only thing I’m learning to adjust to is wearing my mask and remembering I’m immune compromised. 🙈

It’s okay though. I’ll get there. 🫶🏽🤲🏽

Hi friends!

As of right now, I’m at a gFR 6 and talks of dialysis has been brought up. One of the way to avoid dialysis til I get a kidney, is changing my diet to vegetarian and avoiding all dairy products. While this will be a difficult journey to change diet, I’m confident I will be able to do it. If anyone of you have any recommendations or recipes to share I’d be happy to hear.

As always, if you or anyone you know is interested in donating a kidney, you can start the process by filling out the form for either Jackson or Tampa General.

Thanksgiving is right around corner 🍁🍁

I’m so thankful for being physically and mentally healthy. I’m thankful for the support system I have, they have definitely made this journey easier.

Even though my numbers aren’t looking so good and dialysis is soon a possibility….I move forward with faith and gratitude 🤲🏽

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and thank you to everyone who’s shared my story. ❤️

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a beautiful Saturday ❤️

A little update, I came to Tampa to get listed at their transplant center. They’ll be reviewing my case and then putting me on their list. Being double listed will give me a better chance of getting a kidney sooner.

In the meantime, if you or anyone you know would like to see if their a possible donor…you can check through two places.

Hi guys!

Hope everyone is healthy and happy!

Counting my blessings today, and I’m super thankful that I had the opportunity to travel with my family and be right reunited with several of my aunts that I haven’t seen in many years.

I am keeping myself stable to avoid dialysis and hopefully get a kidney soon! My GFR is at an 8 and a living donor is always the best option.

Those who continue to share, thank you. It helps 🙂
Those who continue to keep me in their prayers, thank you.
And those who continue to check in, thank you.

I’ve felt the love and support ❤️
