Welcoming a new baby is such a special time and keeping them healthy is everyone’s job!

“Cocooning” means creating a safe, germ-free circle around your newborn by making sure family, friends, and caregivers are up-to-date on vaccines (like Tdap and flu) and practicing good hygiene.

💡 Newborns are too young for many vaccines, so
they rely on the protection of those around
them
💪 Staying vaccinated helps prevent serious
illnesses like whooping cough, flu, RSV, and
measles
🧼 Always wash hands before holding baby, and
skip visits if you’re feeling under the weather

Together, we can help every baby grow strong and healthy from day one!

​Infants are most susceptible to life-threatening infections from whooping cough and have very little immunity. By surrounding a baby with only immunized people, you cocoon the baby against serious infections.
