"Our bodies know how to heal; they just need a little help sometimes." - Allan Kohler, CNS, LCMT

Allan Kohler, CNS, LCMT, is a Chicago native, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and passionate advocate for the body's innate healing potential. His journey into Massage Therapy began with his own recovery from injuries sustained during military training. Inspired by the healing effects of bodywork, Allan entered the field of Massage Therapy in 2015 at The Soma Institute for Clinical Massage. Specializing in Sports, Therapeutic, Swedish, and Deep Tissue massage, he offers patients customized experiences to promote full-body wellness and functional recovery. Driven by his mother’s journey with epilepsy, Allan pursued advanced training in Neurosomatic Therapy (NST) at The Center for Neurosomatic Studies. With over 2,000 hours in Anatomy and Physiology, he brings a specialist's understanding to structural alignment, cranial and cervical corrections, and targeted organ work to address root causes of chronic pain. His techniques include cranial and cervical corrections, TMJD relief through intra-oral adjustments, nasal decompressions for deviated septums, and organ-targeted therapies impacting the liver, lungs, heart, bladder, and more. Allan’s initial sessions include a comprehensive assessment to design a personalized plan that targets each patient’s unique needs. Guided by a philosophy that “age is not an excuse for pain,” Allan helps patients move beyond common misconceptions, like attributing discomfort solely to aging. Like Randy Clark, the founder of the Center for Neurosomatic Studies, Allan emphasizes that age alone does not explain pain. As Clark says, “When people use [age] as a reason for their pain, it prevents them from finding and fixing the source.” This philosophy aligns with Allan’s commitment to restoring biomechanical efficiency by identifying and addressing true sources of imbalance, rather than accepting them as inevitable. Allan is dedicated to supporting veterans, especially by providing solutions for chronic pain and neurological conditions commonly faced by this community. He believes in wellness as an active, collaborative process, often involving patients in exercises, lifestyle adjustments, and posture work to maintain progress between sessions. Allan tracks and shares each patient’s measurable improvements, reinforcing his role as both a guide and educator in their wellness journey. Allan’s approach aligns seamlessly with DRock Wellness's holistic philosophy, where personalized care is paramount. The D’rock Method combines ancient wellness principles with modern science, integrating Ayurveda, Yoga, and fitness to address each patient’s unique health journey. Allan’s treatments may not encompass a traditional full-body massage in a single session, as he tailors each approach to allow the body time to adapt to targeted asymmetrical corrections essential for long-term balance. This method supports the body’s natural adaptation processes, ensuring that each treatment optimally contributes to sustainable wellness. At DRock Wellness, Allan is your partner in comprehensive care, facilitating the restoration of biomechanical efficiency and unlocking the body’s innate healing capabilities through Neurosomatic Therapy. Currently completing a BAS degree in Business and Management with a concentration in Health Care Management, Allan's commitment to continuous learning reinforces his dedication to holistic healing and empowering patients to take an active role in their wellness journey.

Have you ever noticed that arguing with an AI forces you to tighten your logic?
You can’t rely on emotion, tone, or social cues — only clarity, reasoning, and structure.

When humans debate with machines, we’re really debating with ourselves — stripped of bias, ego, and distraction. Each exchange can refine how we think, speak, and persuade. In theory, this could mark the beginning of a global shift in how people communicate — a world where logic and precision become common language.

But there’s a paradox.
If people stop questioning why the AI’s reasoning sounds convincing, they may lose their ability to think independently. The same tool that sharpens our logic could, if used passively, dull it.

So maybe the question isn’t “Can arguing with AI make us think more logically?”
Maybe it’s “Will we use that logic to connect — or to disconnect?”

Either way, the experiment has already begun.

The Radial Nerve: A Story of Progress

Today, I treated a patient who’s been dealing with tingling in his hand—thumb to pinky—for seven years. He told me, “I’ve tried everything,” but nothing brought relief… until now.

The radial nerve is a key part of our anatomy. It starts at the shoulder, runs down the back of the arm, and innervates muscles like the triceps (elbow extension), the anconeus (elbow stability), and the extensors of the wrist and fingers (hand and finger movement).

For this patient, I focused on the radial nerve’s pathway:

Starting with the triceps,

Moving through the anconeus,

Working on the extensors of the wrist and elbow,

And finally, addressing the wrist itself.

After this session, he already has relief in three fingers. His reaction?
"I can’t believe how easy it was for you to help with this. It’s amazing."

This is why I love what I do. Helping people regain comfort and function after years of struggle is an incredible feeling.

We’re not done yet, though. There’s still work to do on the rest of his hand, and I can’t wait to make even more progress in future visits.

Stay tuned for updates as we continue this journey. And remember, even if you’ve been dealing with symptoms for years, there’s hope. Relief is possible with the right approach.

If you have questions about nerve-related issues or want to learn more about how we can make a difference, let me know!
