Silver Roofs Foundation has launched this year’s Senior Wish List program for the holidays, where we help fulfill wishes from low-income Seniors. This year the process will use the sign up genius link to access the wish lists.

How to sign up:

Pick a person(s) whom you would like to sponsor, sign up, and go shopping.
Then, bring the gifts, unwrapped in gift bags with the ID number on the tag outside the gift bag.

COVID-19 Update:
The Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman’s first priority is the health and safety of residents. You can get information about COVID-19 by calling 2-1-1 and choosing Option 6. If you have an emergency, call 9-1-1. If you have questions about COVID-19 and residents of nursing facilities and assisted living facilities, you can reach your local ombudsman by calling 1-800-252-2412. If you have urgent questions or concerns about COVID-19 in a nursing facility or assisted living facility, please call HHS Complaint and Incident Intake at 1-800-458-9858.

The federal government has issued guidance to nursing facilities. This includes restricting all visitation (except for compassionate care situations, such as end of life situations), canceling group activities and communal dining, and screening staff and residents for symptoms. Please see the "Notes" section of this page for more information.

Home caregivers for people with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 should:
✅ Ensure the ill persons rests 🛌 , drinks plenty of fluids and eats nutritious food.
✅ Wear a medical mask when in the same room with an ill person. Do not touch the mask 😷 or face during use and discard it afterward.
✅ Frequently clean hands 🙌 with soap and water or alcohol-based rub, especially:
• after any type of contact with the ill person or their surroundings
• before, during and after preparing food
• before eating
• after using the toilet
✅ Use dedicated dishes 🍽, cups, eating utensils, towels and bedlinens for the ill person. Wash dishes, cups, eating utensils, towels, or bedlinens used by the ill person with soap and water.
✅ Identify frequently touched surfaces by the ill person and clean and disinfect them daily.
✅ Call 📞 your health care facility immediately if the ill person worsens or experiences difficulty breathing.
