Today was all about teamwork. 💜🐾

Marshall and Bernie worked side by side on their gate manners, with all their friends nearby offering support, distractions, and a whole lot of real-world practice.

This is how we build calm behavior around excitement, not by avoiding it, but by teaching dogs how to think and make good choices through it. These boys did such a good job staying engaged and working through the energy around them! 🐶✨

Roxy had a big lesson today. 🐾

Kids aren’t puppies…and they deserve a different kind of energy 👧✨

We practiced slowing down, keeping four on the floor, and choosing calm first so she can enjoy kids, not overwhelm them. 🐶🥰

And we even had our own little junior trainer helping show Roxy that listening applies to kids too. 🥹👏

She still gets to have friends.
She still gets to play.
Now Roxy’s learning how to do it in a way that feels good for everyone. 💜

🐾 Marshall’s showing off some serious skills at Bealls Outlet today! 🐾

While I browsed shoes, Marshall stayed completely focused on his “down on place.” No nudges, no fuss—just calm, confident, and fully in the moment. It’s easy to think training is about perfection, but days like this prove it’s about choices: choosing focus, choosing calm, choosing to trust and follow through even when there’s something else happening around you.

🏬🐾 Bernie’s first “place” practice out in the world. 🐾🏬

Check out Bernie practicing his place command at At Home, and for a first trip out, he did great!

Was he a little overwhelmed at first? Yep. New store, new smells, new sounds and lots to take in. But Bernie worked through it. He checked in, followed my lead, and chose to go to his place and settle. And that’s huge.

This is real training: not about perfection, but helping dogs navigate big feelings and new environments with confidence and trust.
