As of today (April 15, 2024) the ShandsCair 3 page will no longer be operational. The ShandsCair Critical Care Transport Program page will now be the location for all things pertaining to ShandsCair 3 and the rest of the program. We hope that consolidating pages will result in a better experience for the user, aka you!

This week we take time to celebrate and thank telecommunications personnel across the nation who serve our communities, citizens, and public safety personnel 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

At ShandsCair our communication specialists are the backbone of our program. They dispatch and track all of our flight and ground missions. They also receive all radio reports from all ambulances and helicopters en-route to UF Health. On top of those duties, our communication specialists are responsible for paging out all alerts within the hospital.

This is Mr. Bob Goodson! Bob is one of the security guards at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Bob provided our ShandsCair 3 team with much needed help, when off loading a critical patient on the helipad at TMH. Thank you so much Bob! We greatly appreciate your help!

a) notify your dispatch to launch ShandsCair once you get to the patient and assess them

b) notify your dispatch to launch ShandsCair once you go transporting to the hospital

Yesterday, ShandsCair 3 welcomed the North Florida College EMT class to their base. The students asked our crew some great questions. We also discussed LZ safety and operations. It’s always a pleasure to educate and inspire the next generation of EMS professionals!
