The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) is a vital initiative that empowers low-income individuals and families with the knowledge and skills to make healthy, affordable food choices. Through hands-on nutrition education, cooking classes, physical activity promotion, and community outreach, SNAP-Ed helps combat food insecurity and chronic disease in underserved communities.
This program not only supports healthier lifestyles but also strengthens local economies and schools. Unfortunately, the future of SNAP-Ed is currently at risk, as the Senate prepares to vote on the upcoming Farm Bill. Senate said they were gunna vote on the Big BS Bill tonight, and if not, by the 4th. This bill cuts Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP benefits, and COMPLETELY eliminates the SNAP-ED Program, which is the program and grant that funds my job.
Cutting this grant would severely limit access to essential nutrition education for those who need it most, undermining efforts to build healthier, more equitable communities across the country!
