If you’d like to help you can register via the transplant centers website provided or message me for more info In January 2021, I was hospitalized due to Covid and lost the function of my kidney, at which time, I began undergoing dialysis. Initially, I underwent hemodialysis treatments while my medical team waited to see if my kidney would ‘wake back up’. It wasn’t until late May that my doctors d
eemed my failing kidney function as chronic - meaning they did not foresee any improvement and, in fact, only expected it to become worse. I am currently undergoing dialysis, except now it is another form called peritoneal dialysis, which is slightly different than hemodialysis. Either way though, the dialysis process is still necessary for me to stay alive in the end. Therefore, nowadays I hook up to a cycler every night for 10-12 hours to help clean the toxins out of my body and get rid of excess water weight that builds up through the day. The cycler machine acts as a pseudo-kidney and performs the same major functions as a healthy kidney would. Also in early May, my first son was born premature, but overall is a healthy and happy little boy. No child should have to worry about their parents’ health at such a young age. I am currently seeking someone with the willingness to help. My blood type is B+, however, a match in that respect is not as critical because of the Paired Exchange Program. This means that you can still donate to help provide me a kidney by being a match for someone else, and them having another willing donor as a match for me. Generally donors must be between ages 18-65, have a BMI less than 30, and generally be in good health. Any qualified donor would have all medical expenses related to the evaluation, surgery, and aftercare paid for by my insurance. Also, any potential travel expenses, depending on location and including lodging, would be paid for by my insurance as well.
