Did you know….
The Parkinson’s Mask:
Many people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) develop what’s often called a “masked face.” The medical term is hypomimia—a reduction in facial expressiveness caused by decreased movement of the facial muscles.
This can make it harder to display emotions through familiar expressions like smiling, frowning, or raising an eyebrow. Importantly, the person often feels emotions just as deeply as anyone else—their face simply doesn’t always show it. This disconnect can sometimes lead to misunderstandings in conversations or social situations.
This can be addressed with simple exercises. Contact LevinWell Fitness & Rehab for more info.
