We are thrilled to welcome Guest Instructor Julia Paddison who will be leading a dynamic ashtanga vinyasa flow on Friday!⁣

Julia has trained with dozens of world renowned yoga experts to expand her yoga knowledge through the study of asana, meditation, and philosophy. She is a highly skilled teacher who has taught more than 5,000 hours of yoga, including studio classes, private lessons, workshops, teacher trainings, and international yoga retreats. Her personal practice of Ashtanga Yoga heavily influences her teaching style, so you will find this to be thoughtfully sequenced with a strong focus on breath and alignment.⁣

Ashtanga Yoga is a set sequence practice which is a great way to build familiarity and confidence with the postures. You will find many similarities between Vinyasa and Ashtanga making the Ashtanga practice easy to follow. Held in our Main Studio 1A, the room will be heated to a warm temperature of approximately 75 degrees. Despite the mild temperature, you will definitely break a sweat, so be sure to bring a towel! Some prior yoga experience is recommended. ⁣

The studio will close when road conditions are adverse. Sometimes this decision is made a day before, but not always, due to the unpredictability of weather patterns. Please sign up for your classes IN ADVANCE so that if a class is canceled, you will be automatically alerted to this via email, text, or both, depending upon how you have opted in or out of this setting on your MindBody account.⁣

Please check your MindBody account settings to ensure you have OPTED IN to these cancellation alerts. This is the best way to stay informed of changes to the schedule. You can always check our class schedule on MindBody app or our website (Class Schedule page) to see if a class has been canceled as well.⁣

Enjoy 2.5 hours of a holistic, rejuvenating, mindful wellness experience that incorporates vinyasa flow, myofascial massage, and relaxing guided yoga nidra meditation.⁣

Hot flow yoga builds strength and flexibility, detoxifies, and induces deep relaxation; Yoga Nidra reduces stress and improves sleep by calming the nervous system; and myofascial massage releases tension, boosts mood, and enhances circulation.⁣

Experience all three synergistically to reduce stress, improve physical and mental well-being, and promote recovery by working on different pathways to calm the body and mind.⁣

You will learn how to use self-massage tools like foam rollers, massage balls, and little gua sha tools to stimulate myofascial release, to help alleviate sinus pressure and to relieve pain. You will learn about the importance of fascia and how to release unwanted stress, tension, and held trauma.⁣

You will learn self-massage techniques like lymphatic drainage that uses light, gentle, rhythmic strokes (like stretching the skin and releasing) directed towards major lymph nodes to use post surgery, injury rehab, and to help cancer patients in recovery.⁣

This workshop will be held in our Zen Studio 1A, and will be heated to 95-101 degrees.⁣

This is a dynamic and invigorating vinyasa sequence designed for all levels, to develop strength, stamina, mental focus, balance and clarity. John received his 200 hour teacher certification from Melissa Leach, M.S., who studied and worked alongside Baron Baptiste. We are happy to add this class to our weekly schedule!
