8+ Years of Experience
Hi there! I’m Corie, a fitness enthusiast from Philadelphia, PA. Some of my passions include holistic healing, movement, travel, and financial freedom. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and currently live there with my hubby Joe and rescued pittie Champ.
🤍 My Story
My health & fitness journey began in January 2016 as a new year’s resolution. As it goes, I promised myself to take health and fitness more seriously. At the time, I ate and felt like crap. I had no discipline whatsoever. I was weak, bloated, had constant headaches, I couldn’t run for more than a quarter mile without stopping. So I started small. In the beginning…
I showed up for my daily workout (set a 60 minute timer doing random exercises – I studied the night before and tried new types of movement)
Recreated my favorite dishes (added more fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, oats, herbs, spices and avoided junk, fast foods, and red meat)
Read tons of personal development books (think & grow rich, 7 habits, power of positive thinking & more – to date, I’ve read around 50)
The more I showed up, the more motivated I became. Consistency > perfection. In 2017, I committed to a whole-food plant-based diet. Meaning the majority of my calories come from plants. Joe and I watched a documentary, What the Health… and by the next morning we decided to cut meat, eggs, cheese, and milk out of our diet. And that’s when my physical results skyrocketed. I not only was looking leaner, fitter and more toned, but I was feeling my absolute best. No more constant belly bloat. No more headaches. The list goes on. It’s been a super fun process learning to cook and meal prep. I found that there are a ton of tips out there to make it so much easier and manageable. I started writing down what works for me, and that’s how this blog came to be! On the fitness side, my regime nowadays consists of movement based workouts like calisthenics, yoga, mobility, and running. It’s been my favorite way to:
- Challenge myself on a daily basis
- Get outdoors more
- And connect with community
Overall, I love to learn about health and fitness! Specifically changing up my diet demands, trying new fitness endeavors, and pushing my limits. Here are some of my recent accomplishments:
✔ Fruit only for a week
✔ 3-day silent retreat
✔ Cycle 100 days in a row
✔ Learn to snowboard
✔ Run 50 miles in 12 hours
✔ Pull-ups, push-ups, pistol squats
✔ 5k a day for 150 days
