To those who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss: I know that pain all too well. After losing my first 2 pregnancies, I felt a crushing depression, isolation, and like my soul had left my body. It is one of the darkest times of my life and though much time has passed since, those memories still remain.

This day can be particularly hard for those mothers who have lost a pregnancy or child. It can make them feel invisible and isolated.

Please know that your grief is valid. You are not alone.

Today, we hold space for every mother whose journey looks different, whose story includes heartbreak and loss, and whose love transcends what the world can see.

I see you. Much peace to you today. ❤️‍🩹🥀🪽

Today, on National Women Physicians Day, we honor the trailblazers—those who shattered glass ceilings, defied expectations, and carved out spaces in rooms where they were told they didn’t belong. We celebrate the brilliance, resilience, and compassion of women in medicine, past and present.

But it’s bittersweet.

We carry pride for how far we’ve come, yet acknowledge the weight of what still lingers: the persistent gender gaps, the overlooked contributions, the invisible labor, and the unspoken sacrifices. Many women physicians still face biases disguised as “tradition,” work-life imbalances framed as “choices,” and leadership doors left ajar but never fully open.

So today, we celebrate not just the victories, but the struggles. We honor not just the milestones, but the miles still left to walk. And we stand with every woman in medicine—fighting, thriving, hoping—for a future where equity isn’t the exception but the norm.

Another year, another chapter filled with adventures, laughter, lessons, and memories. As I step into my 39th year, I’m feeling grateful for all the experiences that have shaped me, the people who have stood by me, and the moments that have made life so rich.

Here’s to embracing every moment, loving fiercely, and living fully. I’m excited for what this next year holds — more growth, new opportunities, and the simple joys that make life beautiful.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey so far. Here’s to making 39 the best year yet! 🥂

What a full circle moment! 10 years ago I attended the Alcon Glaucoma Fellows Institute to learn from the very best. It was an honor to be invited this year to help teach it.

Thank you to the program chairs Manjool Shah, Lauren Blieden, and Richard Lewis MD for a fantastic and well organized program! It was a joy to be a part of such a stellar team!

Thank you to the entire Alcon team for their hard work, leadership, and unwavering support for the advancement of our field. The future is bright! 💡

All props to Kevin Caldwell for his splendid photography skills. 📸

Lecturing to our local optometric networks is one of the ways in which our practice remains involved with our ophthalmic community and in turn, allows us to create a long lasting partnership with local optometrists who trust us to provide the best care to their patients. Thank you Bucks Montgomery Optometric Society and PCOS for inviting me to lecture on some exciting developments in the world of glaucoma.

I imagined a career built upon seeing patients in the office and performing surgery. Little did I know that it would also evolve over time to include multiple speaking engagements, involvement with the leading industries in eye care, and invitations to speak on both local and national stages. With each passing year, these podium opportunities have opened doors I couldn’t have imagined were possible. And as they say, “do what you love and you will never work a day in your life.” Trusting the process and excited for where it will take me next. 📸: 🗣️ 🎙️ 👁️ 🙏
