Self-care for the front of the chest, beneath the collarbone, which helps the anterior shoulder not to be rotated forward from to much tightness in the fascia layer. If this area is tighter than it should be you may feel the stretch up through the side of the neck all the way up underneath the area below your jaw!

Fascia is an internal connective tissue which forms bands or sheets that surround and support muscles, vessels and nerves in the body. In the neck, these layers of fascia not only act to support internal structures, but also help to compartmentalise structures of the neck. There are two fascias in the neck – the superficial cervical fascia and the deep cervical fascia.

Superficial Cervical Fascia
The superficial cervical fascia lies between the dermis and the deep cervical fascia. It contains numerous structures:

Neurovascular supply to the skin
Superficial veins (e.g. the external jugular vein)
Superficial lymph nodes
Fat
Platysma muscle
Platysma
The superficial cervical fascia blends with the ‘paper thin’ platysma muscle. The platysma is a broad superficial muscle which lies anteriorly in the neck.

It has two heads, which originate from the fascia of the pectoralis major and deltoid. The fibres from the two heads cross the clavicle, and meet in the midline, fusing with the muscles of the face. Superiorly, the platysma inserts into the inferior border of the mandible.

Innervation to the platysma is via the cervical branch of the facial nerve.

Our Story

~ All sessions are by appointment only ~ As a professional Massage Therapist, since 1990 & being both a Reiki & Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner, my path has always involved an artistic element. I bring that creativity to the table, via a holistic approach designed to meet the needs of my clients. I offer a wide range of modalities to meet your needs, focusing on both acute & chronic pain relief, injuries and other physical issues. My sessions incorporate a finely tuned blend of Swedish, Deep Tissue, Active Isolated Stretching - Structural Integration bodywork, Acupressure, Hot River Stone, plus Reflexology and Jin Shin Jyutsu, Reiki and energy field clearing. ~Your treatment is fully customized to meet your needs ~ Location: My river side massage studio is along the scenic Delaware River, in Bucks County, Point Pleasant, Pa., just a few miles from the New Hope/Lambertville, Centerbridge/Stockton, Frenchtown and Milford Bridges, as well as being less than a 20 minute drive just east of the Doylestown/Plumsteadville/Pipersville areas, and south of Upper Black Eddy/Ottsville/Riegelsville. I've also been providing sessions at a local spa for over 6 years, serving as their lead massage therapist & only Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner. My study of both Reflexology, & Jin Shin Jyutsu, as well as other Vibrational healing arts, plus Active Isolated Stretching, allows me to address a wide variety of health conditions with a unique range of techniques. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jin Shin Jyutsu is a healing art which very much like acupuncture in it's effects. This integrative light touch energetic modality can be used for addressing acute and chronic conditions, including stress/anxiety, difficulty coping with depression, loss and grief, aches and pains, digestive issues, relieving cardiac and respiratory difficulties, injury recovery and so much more. It allows for me to treat clients with recent injuries, and attend to pregnant women, and teach them simple ways they can help their newborn infant, or child with digestive issues, fevers, teething, soothing their injuries, and much more. I’ve also used Jin Shin Jyutsu for end of life care for those with cancer, HIV/AIDs and elderly clients both in their homes and in hospital settings. Jin Shin Jyutsu is also a wonderful way to help people balance their mental/emotional states of worry, sadness & grief, anger/frustration/impatience, fear/anxiety, or simply being stressed out prior to tests, speaking engagements, or simply to much efforting in life. In addition for those who suffer from deep depression, Jin Shin Jyutsu can be a wonderful support when combined with working with a counselor or other mental health therapist. ~~~~ An important component of Jin Shin Jyutsu is self-care and I instruct my clients in JSJ applications so that they can use it to help themselves support their healing process. I continue to deepen my knowledge in Holistic methods of healing incorporating Jin Shin Jyutsu, along with various other integrative modalities. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been blessed to work with many people of all ages & backgrounds, helping them to address a wide array of health concerns, while serving many repeat clients. Specializing In: Acute & Chronic Pain Management Relieving neck & shoulder tension, clearing hip and low back pain, reducing muscle tightness in the legs, foot and heel discomforts such as Plantar Fasciitis Addressing & Freeing joint restrictions, Repetitive Strain Injuries: Frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel, Shin splints, plus shortening injury recovery time Working with a wide variety of conditions: Asthma & sinus problems / Supporting & improving immune function Mental/Emotional Issues: stress & anxiety Alleviating insomnia Treating Headaches & migraines, TMJ Reducing blood pressure imbalance Anti-aging Menstrual & menopausal issues Pregnancy massage Keep in mind that many conditions develop over a long period of time, and may require ongoing sessions to achieve the desired result. ________________________________ Rates: Jin Shin Jyutsu: 75 Minutes ~ $85.00 Riversong Signature Sessions: 90 Minutes ~ $135.00 Integrated Therapeutic Massage, with Active Isolated Stretching, Essential Oils, Hot River Stone Hydrotherapy, Reflexology, Jin Shin Jyutsu ~ Gift Certificates & Package Deals are available ~ Please come a few minutes early if it’s your first session with me. I purposely add in an extra 15 minutes for all new clients, so you can fill in your case history and review your concerns as well as having assessment time, before we begin. Being on time for your session: This is very important as time is valuable for both of us. I am happy to offer the full time you’ve booked your session for, as long as you arrive at the scheduled time. Late Arrivals: If you arrive late, I may have to shorten your session to accommodate clients scheduled after you.

Cancellation Policies and Rescheduling: I request a minimum of 24 to 48 hour notification. Same day cancellations will be charged at 1/2 the rate of your session Not showing up / No Notification: Payment in full is required for the time that could have been offered to another client.
