What makes hiring me as a Concierge RN worth it compared to agency rates?

Three major things…
Convenience, peace of mind and oversight.

When you hire agency help there is often a revolving door of new faces in your home and you need to re-train and explain your loved ones needs to multiple caregivers.

When you hire me, I train each caregiver and ensure that you like them, before I ever leave them in your house alone with you.

Once you decide that you like them, I add them to my liability insurance policy so we are all covered.

I ensure you will never suffer because someone calls out. I will personally cover for them, if they can not work for any reason.

If you decide you don’t like any of my caregivers, just let me know and you won’t have to work with them again.

I create task lists and care plans so that everyone is on the same page and knows what is expected.

Lastly, my caregivers are trained and encouraged to include massage and therapeutic touch to make your loved one feel pampered and they are compensated at the top of industry salaries.

Photo of my Mom and I just in case I haven’t mentioned WHY I am so passionate about care. 🩷

Touch Medicine may seem like a strange name for a concierge RN, but if you knew me well, you would know I am a massage therapist first.

In this photo is my dear friend who inspired me to leave corporate and go out on my own. She loved my massages.

My current clients do too. They have come to rely on them to get through the night and deal with some distressing symptoms.

Naming my business Touch Medicine feels more like a reflection of my calling, than a business decision.🄹

Reflections from Paradise…
Beauty surrounds me.
Stop and just breathe it in.
Let the sun nourish your skin and the sea air fill your lungs.
Remember who you are.
You are a child of God.
Nature is your playground.
Play is how we learn to love and trust.
Today my playmate was a giant sea turtle who swam beside me and poked his head out of the water just long enough to figure out who I was.
It was magical.

This looks interesting.

, , , and are thrilled to invite you to a Virtual Silent Book Club of Death meeting! šŸ“š

This virtual gathering will be on Friday, February 6th at 5pm ET/ 4pm CT/ 3pm MT/ 2pm PT ā˜•

šŸ“–Silent Book Club of Death meetings are structured like any Silent Book Club gathering: you meet up with friendly, like-minded readers, and then politely ignore them while reading a book of your own choosing. Members are encouraged to bring books related to the theme of death, dying, grief, aging, or mortality, but anyone who wants to just read quietly in a death-conscious space is welcome to join.

Folks are welcome to be on or off camera. We’ll play some relaxing music. After the designated reading time, folks are welcome to stay on and share a bit about what they’re reading and connect.

šŸ“•A loose agenda for the evening is as follows:

5PM - 5:15PM: readers join; introductions of hosts and guests
5:15 - 5:45PM: silent reading time while music plays
5:45 - 6:15PM: share out about what you’ve read and lightly facilitated group discussion
6:15 - 6:30PM: goodbyes and wrap up

A new Cochrane review of 73 studies involving nearly 5,000 people found that exercise may be as effective as antidepressants and psychological therapy for reducing symptoms of depression.

This is a reminder that our bodies have innate healing mechanisms that we can activate through lifestyle.

Exercise is one of the most powerful interventions we have for mental health. It reduces inflammation, improves mitochondrial function, balances neurotransmitters, and supports brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) production.

And for many people struggling with depression, it may be the first line of defense—not the last resort.

If you're dealing with depression, talk to your doctor about incorporating movement into your treatment plan. Start small. Even 20-30 minutes of walking can make a difference.

What's your experience with exercise and mental health? šŸ‘‡
