I am so excited to actually begin sharing my story of this incredible journey which I have kept mostly quiet about...
About six months ago I stumbled into this insane dream which, of course, seemed way too good to be true... I remember the first meeting like it was yesterday. At the time, I thought I was interviewing for a position as a consultant for this multifaceted food service establishment. What was interesting was that everything about it spoke to me, drawing from experiences that I have had in my professional past, as well as the thoughts and ideas behind the concept. After that first meeting, I was hooked! The people involved in the project were so amazing to me and I walked away with that feeling that you get when you know some awesome, life-changing event is about to happen to you...
That being said, there were times when I was wondering if that dream was actually a nightmare, as anyone who has been involved in a restaurant opening would know! However, after all of the hard work, dedication, love, sweat, blood, tears, creating, spreadsheets, orders, menus, stairs, dust, MENUS, equipment, plates, glassware, silverware, decisions, emails, MEEEEENUUUUUS, interviews, orders, training, set up, break down, hugs, fights, hiring, drinking, eating, running, moving, cleaning, building, arranging, cooking, tasting, high-fiving, worrying, laughing, yelling, cheers, samples, designs, and overall LOVE... I am so EXTREMELY happy to announce that today I wake up from this dream. Today is the day that the dream has ended. As I rise, I awaken in to so much more than just a restaurant or a job. I stand here looking over our garden from my apartment and see a place that I love, people that I love and a dream that has become reality. Join us today for our first phase of opening as we open the doors to the cafe side of Front Street Cafe where I live, love and work as the operator of this gorgeous establishment. I also want to thank the people that have including me on this wonderful adventure! That day that I thought I was "interviewing for a job" I was actually joining into a family of people that I love very much. I love you guys! Lee Mayjahs Nikk Kee SK Hotspot Jared Ben Sienna and Mika
