Tips for a sober summer:
-Get Connected
AA, Recovery Dharma, NA, and other recovery groups offer peer support and host fun sober activities to keep help get you out of the house and out of your head! 🧠
-Be the Host
Host your own sober events! Pool parties, picnics, nature hikes. If you host, you can pick a substance free venue and invite supportive people πŸŽ‰
-Plan Ahead
Create a plan before any events or vacations. Come up with a list of coping strategies and a way to access support immediately if needed. Invest in your success! πŸ““
-Nature Time
Appreciate the weather- rain or shine! Time in nature connects us with something bigger than our selves. Get outside and get your mind off the addiction! 🌳

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, so let’s talk about some facts from the National Alliance on Mental Illness-

1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness every year
For 1 in 20, their mental illness impacts them severely
And 7.6% experienced a co-occurring substance use disorder and mental illness in 2021
BUT only 47.2% of those with mental illness received treatment in 2021 and the average delay between treatment and onset is 11 years
Barriers such as lack of insurance and shortage of providers prevent people from getting necessary care

Awareness around mental illness helps reduce stigma and promote growth of necessary resources

This month and all year round, let’s talk about it!

04/24/2025

April is Alcohol Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness and increase understanding about alcohol use disorder (AUD) and the dangers of excessive drinking.

Did you know that alcohol contributes to over 178,000 deaths annually in the U.S. and is linked to more than 200 diseases and injury-related health conditions? Alcohol misuse has serious consequences for individuals, families, and entire communities.
