❤️Happy mother’s day to the superhero in my life. how are you manage to do what you do every single day, is beyond me. I’m having to tolerate me and my shenanigans to dealing with the kiddos to nurturing every relationship around you, the tenacity that you showcase every minute every day is absolutely breathtaking.
You have given me two of the greatest gifts I could ever have asked for. thank you for being just the biggest cheerleader in my life. I don’t know what I did to deserve you, but our relationship is one that I cherish more than anything

💥2 weeks later ...My Match Story💥 ___ 🌪It’s been 2 weeks since the whirlwind of match week. I have spoken to so many of you who went unmatched; I wanted to share with them and with you all that this hits all too close to home for me. I know the challenge, the difficulty, the frustration, the sadness and that sense of feeling lost. This time 18 years ago, I also got the dreaded N**P email—You have not matched __
😑I can close my eyes and still remember opening the email. My heart sank. I was felt like I had been kicked in the stomach. I was angry at myself. I felt like a failure. Most of us pursuing medicine do well in high school, college and medical school as well. I still remember having a dream/premonition in the fall of 2006 (at the beginning of the application cycle) that I didn’t match. I guess part of me knew deep down inside __ 😣i sat on the couch watching TV, while joyous laughter of my recently matched roommates pervaded the apartment. Did I need to change specialties? I mentally toyed with anesthesia as recommended by my deans; there was an opening at Harvard and of course I knew that the big H would bring joy to my parents. My roommate slapped me across the face, “Are you going to let this phase your pursuit of what you truly want in your life? Are you really willing to give up orthopaedic surgery?”
