Lately, we’ve been told that the goal is to turn off hunger. That if food noise is quiet, we’ve finally “made it.”

But here’s the thing: hunger isn’t noise. It’s information.

In my latest blog post, I talk about what food noise actually is, why Ozempic has changed how we think about it, and what to do when you want peace with food, but not at the cost of your body’s voice.

Your hunger isn’t the problem. The noise around it is.

ADHD brains are not broken when it comes to food—they just need different support.
And that’s exactly what we’re offering in Fueling Focus, a 4-week summer group for teens and young adults with ADHD.

In Week 1, we start with:
✅ Mapping out current eating patterns (no shame, just awareness)
✅ Understanding how ADHD impacts hunger, focus, and food decisions
✅ Building a personalized meal structure that actually fits real life

Because when food becomes easier and more predictable, everything else: focus, energy, mood gets easier too.

- Virtual group starts Week of June 30th!
- Capped at 8 participants for personalized support
- $225 for the full 4-week series (sliding scale available)
- DM me to grab a spot or ask a question!

f your teen keeps “making a plan” that they can’t follow, the problem isn’t them. The plan is too hard to execute.

ADHD brains burn out on food decisions fast. That’s why in Week 4 of Fueling Focus, we help them:

✅ Create simple meal routines that don’t rely on memory or motivation
✅ Build snack stations and go-to defaults
✅ Stop over-planning and start implementing

A good food plan is one they can actually do on their lowest energy day.

- Group starts late June | $225 for 4 weeks
- Designed specifically for teens and young adults with ADHD
- DM to join us: only 8 spots

Food = focus. Skipping meals = zoning out, crashing, and snapping at people you love.

In Week 3 of Fueling Focus, we connect the dots between food and executive function.

We talk about:
- Brain energy and blood sugar
- How regular meals improve focus, mood, and patience
- Why ADHD brains need more consistent fuel: not less

It’s not about eating “perfectly.” It’s about eating enough, consistently, in a way that works for your brain.

“I’m not hungry... but I feel tired, cranky, foggy, and I can’t focus.”

Yep. That might be hunger.

In Week 2 of Fueling Focus, we teach teens and young adults how to:

✅ Recognize the difference between emotional and physical hunger
✅ Identify their actual hunger cues: even if meds or ADHD make them hard to detect
✅ Understand why waiting until you’re starving makes everything feel worse

It’s not about being perfect. It’s about learning to trust your body’s signals and build strategies around them.

ADHD brains are not broken when it comes to food; they just need different support.

In Week 1 of Fueling Focus, we map out current eating patterns: without judgment.

Why? Because most teens and young adults with ADHD:

Skip meals

Forget to eat

Can’t tell when they’re hungry

Wait until they’re starving, irritable, or crashing

Your brain can’t focus without fuel.
In this group, we talk about why that happens and how to build a meal pattern that actually works with their schedule and medication.

We create a personalized meal map that fits real life: classes, practice, work shifts, and yes, snack breaks.

👉 By the end of Week 1, your teen will have a flexible eating structure they understand and helped create which makes it way easier to follow.

3 Ways to Tell If a Nutritionist is TRULY Non-Diet

❌ RED FLAGS:
🚩 Talks about “lifestyle changes” but still emphasizes weight loss
🚩 Assigns macro goals or calorie limits under the guise of “balance”
🚩 Focuses on portion control to achieve a certain body size

✅ GREEN FLAGS:
1. Uses weight-neutral language & doesn’t link success to body size
2. Helps you unlearn rigid food rules & guilt around eating
3. Encourages intuitive eating & trusting your body

A true non-diet nutritionist helps you break free from diet culture—not disguise it in new terms. If you’re looking for someone who prioritizes your well-being over weight loss, ask the right questions before committing!

5 Signs You’re Stuck in the Chronic Dieting Cycle

Swipe through 👉 to see if these resonate:

1️⃣ Constantly chasing the “perfect” way to eat – Always looking for the next best diet, trend, or “clean” way to eat.
2️⃣ Feeling anxious when eating off-plan – Worrying that one meal will ruin your progress or throw your body off track.
3️⃣ Tying self-worth to food choices – Feeling “good” when you eat a certain way and “bad” when you don’t.
4️⃣ Seeing exercise as punishment – Moving your body only to “make up” for eating rather than for enjoyment.
5️⃣ Feeling out of control around “off-limits” foods – Avoiding certain foods completely, only to later feel unable to stop eating them.

These patterns can make food feel exhausting and all-consuming. You deserve a way of eating that feels flexible, freeing, and nourishing.

You don’t have to do it alone—nutrition counseling can help.

Not all signs of disordered eating are obvious.

Many of us picture extreme dieting or visible weight changes, but often, struggles hide behind socially praised behaviors like “discipline” or “clean eating.”

Have you noticed:

- Constant food/body image thoughts
- Rigid food rules or guilt around eating
- Exercising to “earn” your meals
- Feeling shame or anxiety when deviating from your food routine

Recognizing these subtle red flags can stop disordered eating before it escalates. Awareness is powerful. ✨

Following strict food rules might feel like control, but in reality, it can lead to:
🔹 Increased stress & anxiety around food
🔹 Loss of hunger & fullness cues
🔹 Social isolation when food isn’t “perfect”
🔹 A cycle of guilt, restriction, & overeating
A truly healthy approach to food is flexible, nourishing, and adaptable—not something that causes shame. If you’re noticing rigid food rules in your life, it’s okay to question them.
💡 What’s one food rule you’ve unlearned? Let’s celebrate together! 🎉
