However, due in part to the ever–increasing cost of health care, the house call was replaced by doctors' offices, clinics and emergency rooms. The personal side of geriatric medicine often gets lost in today's health care environment. Schuylkill Medical Associates is leading the movement of house call doctors that hopes to reverse this trend. I do not have a brick and mortar office; instead, I see patients in the comfort and safety of their homes and am dedicated to providing experienced care to the elderly and homebound. I believe that communication and a team approach are crucial in helping a senior to age in his/her own home for as long as possible. I become the patient’s advocate and will help families navigate the daunting maze of challenges that can come with caring for a loved one. Like any primary care physician, I provide full scope acute and chronic disease management, pain management, preventive care, end of life care, wound and incontinence care, and more. I work closely with home nurses, therapists, social workers, care managers and specialists. I believe in the dignity of each individual and make it my goal to treat each patient with compassion and respect.
