The Kensington Burial Grounds, commonly called Palmer Cemetery is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit.

The cmetery relies heavily on donations from the community and general public to maintain the historic burial grounds.

This could happen in any older cemetery, and we've been lucky to this point. PLEASE PEOPLE, if and when visiting Palmer Cemetery, stay clear of the old large stones throughout the cemetery. If you're accompanied by youngsters, please keep them near you and always be careful of where you are stepping.

We do our best to address loose headstones and monuments. We do backfill holes that may open when we find them. But we cannot be 100% in an almost 300 year old cemetery.

Please understand that we do our best in maintaining the grounds. We do so with small donation, semi annual fundraisers and grants when available. We are a not for profit group, with 100% of what comes in going back into the cemetery.

Work ongoing here at cemetery. Gate is open, but we encourage people to stay away today.
This round of tree work will be done today and gate will be opened on Sunday from 8am til 5pm. Thank you for your cooperation.

The Saturday, June 7th, we will be having more tree work done inside the cemetery. Please remember to always be aware of your surroundings when visiting. The old trees and foot paths have seen better days.

Remember when? 1970's

A large part of a tree that was marked for removal broke away yesterday. It's being cleaned up as I post this. The trees here are old. It's a problem that we deal with regularly and it's expensive to deal with. We have been blessed with help from Saluting Branches, a non profit organization that helps old veterans burial grounds. In an effort to make our historic grounds safe for everyone who visits, we need the support of the community as well.

Our staff here is mainly volunteer. We are all unpaid with exception of contractors doing the grass cutting and tree work.As I stated, even some of the tree work is donated. We are a 501c3 in good standing. Please consider supporting our work here with a small donation. We appreciate and thank all who have helped.
The work continues and we will need your continued support.

A Happy, Healthy and Peaceful Easter Blessing to one and all!

The cemetery will be open from 8am to 5pm everyday from today til Easter Sunday. If you are planning on visiting a family grave, please clear any older decorations before placing flowers or other items on the grave. By clearing older items, it helps us in getting the grass cut and trimmed on and around the grave. We appreciate your help with this.

The contractor working on the sidewalks has repaired and then painted all of the bollards along Belgrade Street. True to his promise, he fixed the problem. Thanks to all involved in the fix.

Sidewalk looks awesome. Maybe Memphis Street will be looked at next? Here's hoping.

Today was the first grass cutting in 2025. The grass will be cut every two.weeks through October. We are asking that anyone who may have some items of decoration that may still be laying on a family grave, to please clean up the area. We welcome your flowers and other small items that are placed on the grave, but please keep it close to the headstone. A lot of the grass cutting is done by string trimmer and anything laying on a grave site could be damaged. If a grave becomes too crowded with items, we will remove anything that prevents our contractor from completing his work.

Thank you to all who keep their grave sites clean. It helps us old guys out. Please consider making a donation to help defray the costs of the Grounds keeping. All donations are tax deductible.
