Did you know there’s a risk now that the United States government will NO LONGER PAY for vaccines that have longer-term benefit like the HPV vaccine which is designed to PREVENT FUTURE CANCERS?

As a cervical cancer survivor and chapter leader of the PA National Cervical Cancer Coalition, I am very concerned that this Presidential administration is jeopardizing the continued implementation of the strategic plan to eliminate cervical cancer within the next generation’s lifetime. My question is “Are the what appears to be more political based, not science based, decisions of RFK stopping our country from being on board with the global initiative to end the disease along with the efforts of other countries across the world and essentially preventing the elimination of the first cancer in America?

Well, everyone should be aware that U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. abruptly fired the entire Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, accusing them of being too closely aligned with manufacturers and of rubber-stamping vaccines. He handpicked replacements that include several vaccine skeptics.

JFK’s opposition to vaccine policy caused dozens of workers to walk off of the job and four high level officials to quit according to Christian Broadcasting News (CBN) network. Public Broadcasting Services, PBS.org, reported U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. abruptly fired the entire Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, accusing them of “being too closely aligned with manufacturers and of rubber-stamping vaccines”. He handpicked replacements that include several vaccine skeptics.

There’s also the question of whether health insurers would pay for vaccinations that are recommended by alternative groups but not ACIP.. They might pick and choose which vaccines to cover, said the University of North Carolina’s Noel Brewer, another former ACIP member. For example, they might pay for vaccines that offer more immediate cost savings for health care, like the flu vaccine. “BUT MAYBE NOT ONES THAT HAVE LONGER-TERM BENEFIT LIKE THEE HPV,” VACCINE,” which is designed to prevent futures cancers, Brewer said.

Please be concerned too. WE ALL NEED TO CONTACT OUR REPRESENTATIVES AND LET THEM KNOW THAT WE DON’T WANT ANY MORE UNNECESSARY DEATHS AND LIVES INTERRUPTED BY A PREVENTABLE DISEASE THAT HAS AN ACHIEVABLE PATH TOWARDS ELIMINATION OUTLINED.

In my Tony! Toni! Tone’! singing voice “Do you know what today is? ITS ADA’s ANNIVERSARY. ADA’s ANNIVEERSAAARRYYY!” As Chapter leader, I, Angela “The Survivor Diva” Reese want to make as many people as possible aware that the National Cervical Cancer Coalition (NCCC-PA, Uptown Philly) Chapter is proud to support the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) 35th Anniversary. On July 26th we celebrate this important civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities, such as myself, have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else. Celebrate with us by visiting adaanniversary.org.
