🌟 Please join us in congratulating our Resident of the Month, Louise!

Resident of the Month: Louise L.

Louise Delle was born in 1933 in Philadelphia and moved to Souderton when her father opened a Pharmacy. After business school, she married Ken Bissey, a building contractor with whom she had two daughters and a son they raised in Souderton.
Louise was never one to sit for long; loved driving her convertibles, the beach, and was always on the go for something interesting to do or see, with a wicked sense of humor.

She later married Bob Land, and they moved to Cape May, NJ, where they lived until recently moving to Abington to be close to family.

In addition to her three children, Louise has five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Resident of the Month: Robert

I was born in Camden, NJ on October 20, 1961. I grew up in Warminster, PA. My family includes my mother, Josephine, and my sister-in-law, Frances, who you all may know because they visit me everyday. Frances is married to my brother, Michael. My sister, Kathryn, lives in Virginia. My father, Ronald, passed away in 2014. I once had a beautiful golden retriever named Maggie, who I would take for walks around the block. My grandparents had a house in the lower Catskill Mountains along the Delaware River where my family and I would visit often and where I would spend part of my summers as a child.

I am a big Phillies fan! I wish I could get ESPN on the television in my room so that I could watch more of their games. I am also a big Eagles fan and I'm looking forward to the upcoming season!

I like the activities at Brookside, especially those involving music. I enjoy going to physical therapy as often as possible. I don't have very good vision, so please make sure to tell me your name when you stop to say hello.

Resident of the Month: Ida Pearl Reeder

Hi, my name is Ida Pearl Reeder. I was born, raised and lived in Philadelphia all of my life. I am the 2nd born of six sisters. I had four kids of my own, three boys and one girl, with my late husband, Eugene Reeder. I also raised my granddaughter, Attia, from the age of 10, who’s become my partner-in-crime in recent years.

I’ve been a member of Grace Baptist church of Germantown for over 30 years. During my membership there, I have been in the choir, and worked with the missionary auxiliary and usher board. I worked for Abington Hospital for 20 years and retired from the school district of Philadelphia after 10 years of service. I enjoy listening to music, anything sweet, and a good laugh.

Say hello to our Resident of the Month: Natalie D.

Hi! I am Natalie and I was born at Misericordia Hospital on December 28th. I am the oldest of 3, and have 2 brothers. I went to Archbishop Prendergast High School. I was on the debate club for 3 years. After high school, I got married and got my math degree and taught math for a year at Conestoga High School. I got divorced 7 years later…happiest day of my life.J

After teaching, I became a Certified Imagine Consultant. I worked with 2 companies, for about 15 years as a Senior Sales Director. At the first company, I won a pink Cadillac and became a national trainer for the second company. What I enjoyed most was showing women how beautiful they could be by wearing the right colors in clothing and make up. I even had a woman get a raise and a promotion because, as her boss said, β€œnow you look like someone we can send out on a sales call.” After that company closed, I went back to teaching at Germantown High School and Mathom House in Doylestown.

If I had to choose a place to be because of my health concerns, at this point in my life, I would choose Brookside. And by the way, I have been in 5 nursing homes.
