Natalie Ham, ND

Natalie Ham, ND Welcome to the facebook home of Dr. Natalie Ham's Naturopathic Medical Practice. I run Nourish Natural Medical Center in Tempe, AZ. Women do it all.

I am a naturopathic medical doctor focusing on treating women’s health issues with homeopathy. It has been my dream to start a practice that incorporates my belief in the body’s ability to heal when given the right tools, along with a warm, fuzzy and relaxing feel; a place where women can come and HEAL, inside and out, top to bottom. As everyone knows, when the lady of the house is not feeling well, everyone else is the household easily becomes out of balance as well. They tend to take on everyone’s everything on top of their own work, mothering, cleaning, cooking, exercise, and pets, all while trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle for them and their families. This is my passion: to keep you in balance and to help you rid yourself of any issues that keep you from ruling your world to the best of your ability. How did this become my passion? It started when I moved to Arizona from Chicago to attend ASU. While there, I started down the track of pre-med. Something did not feel totally right, but I could not put my finger on why. It was during this time, that I met a Naturopathic Doctor. He told me how he differed from the traditional medical doctor and I was completely hooked. It was just this piece that I was missing from medicine – how to help the body do what it already knows how to do! Healing people without drugs and surgery felt like it was some kind of miracle and I wanted to know everything about it. I began to see a Naturopathic Doctor who specifically used homeopathic treatments and in 1 month had healed my lifelong insomnia. It was at this time I knew I not only needed to be a Naturopathic Doctor, but I needed to employ the use of homeopathy in my practice. After undergrad at ASU, I completed four years of medical school at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences passing both sets of board exams, and accepted the family practice residency at SCNM. During this time, homeopathy was a specific focus in my treatment plans and I was fortunate to be trained by my mentor Dr. Stephen Messer, ND in addition to further training by Dr. Andre Saine’s conferences in Montreal. After my residency completed, Dr. Messer created a second year homeopathic residency sponsored by Standard Homeopathics, which was the first of its kind in the United States. I was lucky enough to get accepted for that residency and get an additional year of training one-on-one with Dr. Messer. After the conclusion of the second year of residency, I was fortunate to join an existing naturopathic practice at the Arizona Natural Health Center with some of the other most highly trained homeopaths in the country. Maintaining my relationship with SCNM, I also taught homeopathy and ran homeopathic-based shifts at the Student Clinic as well as doing research on homeopathic products. It was while practicing at ANHC that I developed my passion for treating women’s health. In particular, I specialize in treating fertility issues, pregnancy concerns and post-partum care. After practicing at ANHC for seven years, it was time to realize my dream and open Nourish Natural Medical Center with Dr. Carrie Rittling, who also uses homeopathic medicine in her pediatric focused practice. It was a perfect match. At some point in all of this I found and married the light of my life and live with him and my two dogs in Chandler, Arizona. My favorite thing to do really, is goof off with my husband, but I also love to read, relax in the sun, hike, yoga, cook and go camping. I also love the Arizona spring time, it is my favorite time of year. I love the blooming smells, spring training, outdoor yoga and hiking weather. Since my native town is Chicago, I still love the Chicago sports teams and follow them all as well, Go Bears!

Last night, my 5-year-old grandson excitedly told me via FaceTime video that, “Biba, my teacher told me there’s a 95% chance if coronavirus got into my body, my body would destroy it before I got sick.” Brava, I thought, smart schoolteacher, smart school talking point (he’s in a magnet schoo...

Homeopathy needs your help! Please take a moment to read the following...FDA link is right here: https://homeopathychoice.org/fdacomment/

The Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians (HANP) needs your help! Please take the time to read the following: Dear Homeopathy Supporter,

We are sending you this urgent message today requesting that you do two very important things:
Submit a comment to the FDA docket about homeopathy telling the agency that we need a 180-day extension in order to respond adequately to the FDA’s latest proposed rules. When you’re ready to do that, you can click the button below.
Forward this email to your contacts and get every family member in each household—regardless of age—to submit a comment to the docket.
You may have been hearing about new proposed rules for homeopathy put out by the FDA. We were glad that the previous conceptually flawed and poorly worded rules (called “guidance” by the FDA) were withdrawn recently.

In their place the FDA proposed a revised guidance. This revised guidance has some helpful changes and some detrimental ones. Unfortunately, the detrimental ones are very detrimental, and we must now pressure the FDA to revise this guidance considerably. We can do that by getting a very large number of people to ask for an extension while commenting on this new draft.

If you are familiar with the changes the FDA made, you can go directly to the FDA Comments page on the Americans for Homeopathy Choice site by clicking the button below. There you’ll find out how to make a comment that will help us get an extension.
Tell the FDA What You Think
If you want to know more about the changes, here’s a summary of the most important points:

The new Draft Guidance, if adopted, will allow the FDA to withdraw even properly manufactured and labeled homeopathic medicines from the marketplace. This is puzzling because these have never posed any sort of safety concern according to an initial review of public FDA records by Americans for Homeopathy Choice.
It is clear that the FDA intends to use this authority and has even mentioned specific medicines such as Belladonna, Nux vomica and Lachesis muta in its public statements regarding enforcement.
The authority for this kind of assault on homeopathy will result from the declaration by the FDA that all homeopathic medicines are “new drugs.” We all know that legally speaking, this is nonsense. Homeopathic medicines have been around for 200 years.

But this nonsense declaration means that under federal law all homeopathic drugs will become technically “illegal” and subject to withdrawal from the marketplace. If the FDA just thinks there is a problem with a homeopathic medicine, it can withdraw it forever without conducting any sort of investigation.

Since the agency has already told us that it thinks that Belladona, Nux vomica, Lachesis muta and several other remedies are dangerous, we can anticipate that it will try to remove them from the marketplace as soon as the guidance is finalized.
Once this happens, the only conceivable way these remedies could be reinstated is to go through what the FDA calls a New Drug Application (NDA). But that’s not going to happen for two reasons:

First, no one can patent homeopathic remedies because they are made from common substances. So, no company would be able to make back the huge cost of going through the NDA.

Second, the NDA is designed for pharmaceuticals and is unable to test the effectiveness of a medicine that is tailored to each individual rather than given to a large mass of people who supposedly have the same condition. Hence, it is unlikely that any homeopathic medicine would be ruled both safe and effective by the FDA.

That means that when the FDA removes a homeopathic remedy from the market, it will be the equivalent of banning it forever. And, don’t think that you’ll be able to order your remedies from abroad. The FDA will just stop them at the border.

We could tell you more, but what we’ve told you so far should convince you that we must get the FDA to change its unreasonable and misinformed guidance to reflect the realities of homeopathic medicines: They are nontoxic, mild, effective and have few, if any, side-effects.

And, homeopaths use them in ways that individualize treatment. That this is the best way to treat patients was discovered by Samuel Hahnemann 200 years ago. (Pharmaceutical companies are only now discovering that Hahnemann was right. But this hasn’t sunk in at the FDA.)

Help us get an extension so that there will be enough time to prepare a response properly. We need the time in order to show the FDA step-by-step how to change the Draft Guidance in ways that will protect rather than imperil homeopathy. Please click on the button below to go to a form that will allow you to make a comment to the FDA in just a minute or two.
