Every now and then the stars align and present us with some pretty amazing opportunities. We want to be clear that we will always be a cat and dog only veterinarian crew but through networking we have started a new partnership with Raptor Ridge Wildlife Education!

We are so excited for this new opportunity to give back to our surrounding community in a special way through providing veterinary care for the educational birds of prey that reside with Raptor Ridge. All of the raptors that are a part of their 501c3 nonprofit were deemed non releasable by US Fish and Wildlife, this means they would not survive in the wild on their own due to various injuries but are otherwise healthy. These raptors are not pets, they serve a purpose and provide educational programs year round to private and public events. Give them a follow on Facebook and Instagram to learn more about all the amazing birds they have!

Disclaimer: Technician Lauren is trained in the handling of birds of prey and Dr. Nelson has a wide variety of veterinarian wildlife experience through previous jobs. We can’t wait to watch this new relationship develop and grow!

We have had a busy past week on our social media 🤩 Here is one more awesome story!

Such a special treat to be able to feed a yummy lunch to these amazing kids and the staff of Pike Road Theatre Company😍🙌🥳 This group puts on some amazing performances and I cannot wait to see “Finding Nemo KIDS” this weekend! I know it will be amazing so hopefully you’re fortunate enough to go watch it too!

Where in the world was Dr. Nelson these past few weeks, you ask??? She was busy doing her other job as an Army Veterinary Reservist on an Innovative Readiness Training mission called Operation Healthy Tennessee.

During this mission, her veterinary detachment partnered with the Rhea County Animal Shelter and community volunteers to conduct over 360 spay and neuter surgeries and over 660 wellness exams and vaccinations on the animals in the community in only a 10 short clinical days😳🤯😍👏🤩🐾😺🇺🇸🫡🩺💉

What an amazing outcome for a community in need! It is estimated that the work done will prevent over HALF A MILLION unwanted animals from being born over the next 4 years in that area! What an honor to work alongside Soldiers, Airmen, First Responders, community volunteers, and so many others who made this mission success possible 🥰

Are your pets microchipped? If not call us today to schedule an appointment to have that done and here’s why!

One of our technicians had a sweet old pittie show up at her house yesterday, the thing is she lives way out in the country and doesn’t have close neighbors so trying to figure out where this baby came from would be difficult. Thankfully she knew just what to do and took the dog to be scanned for a microchip at a local clinic. The dog had a microchip and she was able to get the owners information from the microchip company and call them. Within a 2 hour time span the dog was back with its owners! If the dog hadn’t of been microchipped it would have taken much longer to reunite her with her owner or possibly worse of never finding them at all. Oakley is now back in the comfort of her own home all thanks to her owners smart choice to microchip her! 🤗

Happy Independence Day America! 🇺🇸🥳🎉 Here are a few tips to keep your pets safe throughout the weekend festivities:

1. Keep pets indoors while the fireworks are happening.
2. Tire them out earlier in the day so they will be sleepy come night time.
3. Check your fences for any escape routes.
4. Keep them away from the trash cans! Things like ribs bones and corn cobs typically have to be surgically removed. 💰💰💰
5. While it’s too late now, for the future make sure your pet is microchipped!
