🎤 MEET THE SPEAKER: Vena Schexnayder, LMSW
Advocating for healing, prevention, and change—right where the community needs it most. 💛🎰🧠

We’re honored to welcome Vena Schexnayder, LMSW, Founder and Executive Director of the Arkansas Problem Gambling Council, to the Talk That Heals Mental Health Forum on Thursday, May 29th at 7PM via Zoom.

Vena Schexnayder is a dedicated clinician and passionate advocate with a community-centered mission. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Arkansas Problem Gambling Council, where she leads efforts to prevent and treat gambling addiction across the state. With over 15 years of experience in prevention and addiction services throughout the southern and eastern United States, Vena has become a trusted leader in the field. Her policy & advocacy efforts were instrumental during the 95th General Assembly, where she co-authored Arkansas House Bill 1847—the Self-Exclusion Bill—advancing responsible gambling practices and reinforcing protections for Arkansans. Vena holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University and a Master’s in Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is also certified in Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Counseling through Northern Virginia Community College. Nationally, she serves on the Board of Directors and as State Affiliate Chair for the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG). She is an advisory board member for the Arkansas Chapter of the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) and a member of the DraftKings Responsible Gaming State Council Funding Steering Committee.

A dedicated clinician and passionate advocate, Vena is on a mission to raise awareness, break stigmas, and provide support for those impacted by gambling addiction across Arkansas. Her work is rooted in community, compassion, and bold leadership—because healing starts with acknowledging the struggle.

specialist based in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is the founder of Holding Space
Counseling, LLC, where she focuses on maternal mental health and women& #39;s issues.

A proud graduate of Philander Smith University and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Mackenzi has been in the mental health field for 14 years and is fully licensed for 10. Her passion for perinatal mental health began in 2020 at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, leading to her certification in 2022. Dedicated to advocacy and education, she believes all birthing people deserve quality maternal mental health care. Originally from Eudora, Arkansas, Mackenzi enjoys baking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Mackenzi is passionate about helping women navigate the emotional ups and downs of pregnancy, postpartum, and everything in between. 🎤 MEET THE SPEAKER: Dr. LaShond Hill, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, APRN
Bridging the gap between medicine and mental health—one conversation at a time.

We’re excited to welcome Dr. LaShond Hill, Family & Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, to the Talk That Heals Mental Health Forum happening Thursday, May 29th at 7PM via Zoom!

Lashond Hill is a dual Board Certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She started her career in the medical field in 1996 as a medical assistant. Having a passion for the care of people, she completed her Registered Nurse education in 2004 and worked on both the cardiac and intensive care units at local hospitals. She then went on to receive a Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Arkansas State University in 2011. She worked as a primary care provider, providing and managing care for acute and chronic illnesses to children and adults in a clinic setting. Lashond completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree from Samford University in 2013, focusing on health promotion and disease prevention. Seeing the need for mental health services in her private practice, she went on to graduate with her post Master’s degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Maryville University in 2019. She wanted to be equipped to serve patients with both physical and mental health needs. She is passionate about access to care issues, noncompliance issues, chronic disease management, evidence-based practice, and issues related to Advanced Practice Nursing. To sum her up: She is Passionate about care. Compassionate about people.

Dr. Hill brings a unique perspective as both a medical provider and mental health advocate, blending clinical knowledge with compassionate care. Whether it’s managing medication, navigating diagnoses, or reducing stigma—she’s all about whole-person healing.

First up, André Jones, LCSW. André Jones is a proud alum of UA-Little Rock. He is Co-Owner and Managing Partner of Solutions Counseling Group in Little Rock. The staff consists of male and female clinicians of color, with the insight and experience to serve the unique needs of a typically underserved population. André has a particular passion for helping brothers become their optimal selves. He wants every person currently struggling to come to know, "You are not broken, you are just not yet your best self."

André's vast experience includes work with couples (including LGBTQ), individuals, youth and adolescents, individuals without homes, and a myriad of other individual therapeutic interventions. His passion is helping to heal relationships, whether romantic, family, or even professional. Whether you are looking for brief, solution-focused interventions, long-range therapy, or even intermittent relationship “tune-ups”, André remains passionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental as you seek to heal.

🎤 MEET THE SPEAKER: Myra Woolfolk, LMSW
She’s not just talking about change—she’s leading it. 🙌🏾

We’re honored to welcome Myra L. Summers-Woolfolk, LMSW, Executive Director of Exodus.Life, to the Talk That Heals Mental Health Forum on Thursday, May 29th at 7PM via Zoom.

With a heart for healing and a passion for restoring lives impacted by addiction, trauma, and mental health challenges, Myra brings both clinical expertise and real-world experience to the conversation. She’s a voice you need to hear.

Myra Woolfolk earned her BA in Criminal Justice and MS in Addiction Studies from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and MSW from Louisiana State University. Myra has at least 25 years’ experience in addiction and correctional treatment programming and non-profit development. She has long been an advocate for the emotional health and wellness of individuals experiencing challenges from untreated mental health and substance use issues. She brings a wealth of experience ranging from administrative management, developing substance use treatment programs, educational, and vocational programs for individuals in the state of Arkansas, as well as professional development for behavioral health clinicians. In 2016, she founded Harbor City Health and Wellness to equip and empower individuals desiring optimal emotional wellness.

She is currently the Executive Director for Exodus. Life, a faith-based nonprofit program offering recovery supportive services and is one of the first Recovery Community Organizations in the State of Arkansas. Myra is also an associate professor in the Department of Public Service and Social Sciences at Arkansas Baptist College, where she has served for the past eight years.

Myra loves studying African American History, reading, writing, spending time with her family, and helping others empower themselves. She resides in White Hall, AR, with her husband and children.
