3️⃣ TIPS FOR BUSY MOMS WHO STRUGGLE TO FIND TIME TO WORKOUT:

#1. TIME SWAP - find a weekly task that you could “trade in” for extra YOU time.

My favorite time saving examples - *grocery delivery* instead of going to the store, watching your favorite show *while* you workout instead of sitting on the couch. Might sound like a sh*tty trade, but it’s a game changer! &Treadmill > &Chill

#2. Lower Your Expectations - workouts will not be perfect, just know that going in and it’s harder to be let down. The battle is showing up consistently, for yourself - no matter what.

#3. Prioritize Relaxing & Restorative Movement/Workouts instead of High Intensity Activities.

If your body is constantly under stress, high cortisol levels could be doing a number on your body. Use relaxing, restorative exercise (yoga, walking, hiking, stretching, infared sauna) to combat stress instead of adding to it!

MUSCLE IS PRECIOUS.

If you grew up playing sports and being active, you probably took having muscle for granted.

At the time, you probably didn’t realize how much that muscle protected you from injury and allowed you to basically eat whatever you wanted without gaining weight.

As a Strength Coach, I’ve always appreciated muscle - how powerful it makes you feel, how healthy it makes you look, what it allows you to do physically —-but it took recovering from two pregnancies to get a real grasp on the whole “use it or lose it” saying.

So here’s my #1 piece of advice: build your body while you still can. Muscle will serve you well for years and years to come 💪🏼🖤

If the sh*tstorm that is Motherhood has taught me anything, it’s that “perfection” no longer exists.

Especially when it comes to workouts.

There was a time in my life where I would skip a workout/exercise if I didn’t have the exact equipment I needed, or the exact amount of time to complete it, or the perfect outfit to wear to the gym (seriously wtf was wrong with “college me” 🤦🏼‍♀️) or my lifting shoes (ok, this may or may not have happened very recently).

But thank god Motherhood taught me to keep showing up no matter what.

To show up for my health. To show up for my sanity. To show up as an example for my kiddos.

And guess what? Showing up is enough. It doesn’t matter if you only completed the warm-up, you showed up for yourself and built one more workout toward consistency, and that my friend, is a WIN.

This is why consistency matters.

The more your workout, the more equipped your immune system is to fight off and recover from illness.

Consistency affords you the ability to take off multiple days while you are recovering, without completely de-railing your overall progress.

So get some extra sleep & fluids, then get back to it.

This is what makes it a lifestyle change vs. another fad diet/workout plan.

It has to be sustainable.

You have to give yourself grace.

Life happens.

& you should enjoy it as much as possible.
