Just thought I'd share my meditation chant for today❤

May all beings be free from suffering
May they be happy
May they be healthy
May they live with ease.

Happy weekend.

Question. Does anyone know of any mediums in the Myrtle Beach area? Asking for a friend.

ALL ABOUT SAGE
I'm doing research and happened to come across this posting on a web page. I've included the link below. This is VERY interesting!!

Before we go any further, let’s clear up a matter that is some times a bit confusing. The difference between the sages. There are A LOT of sages out there. Medicinally, they are not the same. In the kitchen, they are not the same. Please do not try to use them interchangeable. Stick to tradition and research for medicinal applications. Stick to recipes and culinary guides in the kitchen. Magickally though… Magickally it gets a little stickier. Sage is typically used for smudging, and there are two main sages that get questioned in this application the most.

When I first started exploring herbs from a learning standpoint, the different sages confused me. There was so much conflicting information about whether they were interchangeable or if they even held the same properties. Then of course is the issue of cultural appropriation and ethical sourcing.

Here is my very simple take on it. Smudging, or purifying things and spaces with smoke has been around for a really long time. I know that there are die hard believers that White Sage is the only possible choice for that. And that’s definitely what the New Age commercial crew pushed when I first started exploring witchcraft. But I don’t think it’s the correct answer.

White Sage grows in Mexico and the Southwestern United States. It definitely is a part of Native American heritage and practices. Does that exclude anyone else from using it? Yes and no. No, because I believe that the plants of this world are our allies and when approached respectfully should be able to be utilized by anyone. Yet, because those plants are now being over harvested, taking away something sacred is not approaching it respectfully.

And honestly, my ancestors are not from Mexico and the Southwestern United States. They are definitely closer to the Germanic areas of Europe, which means my ancestral purification practices more likely contained Common Garden Sage. So…are they perfectly interchangeable? I don’t have a definitive answer. What I do have is a belief that following my ancestral magick is probably stronger than trying to figure out someone else’s. And I’ve found Common Sage to actually be more beneficial to my own practice than White Sage ever was.

A RITUAL FOR MANIFESTING

Portunus God
August 17: Portunalia
The ancient Roman festival dedicated to Portunus, the two-faced god like Janus, symbolized transitions and change. As the deity of ports, harbors, keys, and doors, Portunus was honored in this solemn festival with the ritual of throwing keys into a fire, seeking his favor for protection and good fortune during pivotal moments of transition.

Portunalia Key to Transformation Ritual
This coming Full Moon, we can harness the dual energies of Portunus to manifest courage and transformation, embracing both the favorable and unpredictable aspects of life's journey.

You'll need:

A key (representing new opportunities) 🔑
A small fireproof bowl or cauldron
A red candle
A small piece of paper and a pen
Matches or a lighter
1. In a quiet space, write down a single word or phrase on the paper that represents what you wish to manifest (e.g., "courage," "transformation").

2. Hold the key in your hand, close your eyes, and visualize it unlocking the door to your desired outcome. Feel the power of courage flowing through you.

3. Light the red candle, symbolizing the fire of transformation. Place the key in the fireproof bowl.

4. Safely light the paper from the candle flame, and as it burns, drop it into the bowl with the key, saying:

"By this flame, courage and change,
My path is clear, my life I arrange."

5. Let the candle burn for a few more moments. Then, extinguish the flame, keeping the key as a symbol of the courage and transformation now present in your life.
