Striffler Family Funeral Homes

Striffler Family Funeral Homes Five generations of the Striffler family with continuous service...since 1866. Frank Adam Striffler, was an undertaker in the 1800’s in Meadville, PA.

In 1905 his sons, Edgar Jacob and Frank Sebastian Striffler came to McKeesport and opened a funeral home along Walnut Street. Seven years later, they relocated to a Market Street location that later became the home of the American Legion Post 361. In 1927, the Striffler brothers joined hands with the Hunter and Edmundson Funeral Home to form the Hunter-Edmundson-Striffler Funeral Home, which today operates as the administrative offices of Striffler Family Funeral Homes. The funeral home is the oldest in the area; in a sense, it has grown up with the community. The family continues to maintain this facility as a funeral home since 1866 at the corner of Market Street and Sixth Avenue in downtown McKeesport. Her father, Frank Sheridan Striffler, who died March 26, 2006, opened another location in 1956 in White Oak at the corner of Lincoln Way and O’Neil Boulevard. Today, this office has grown to be the most centrally located for families and therefore is now the main location for families to arrange funerals for their loved ones. Striffler Family Funeral Homes provide a multitude of services such as traditional visitation periods followed by a religious service with burial; visitation periods followed by a service and cremation; services held directly at the gravesite; personalized memorial services after a cremation takes place; or whatever tribute or remembrance gathering a family desires. Striffler Family Funeral Homes offer pre-planned funeral arrangements; cemetery monuments and memorials are available through the Design Monuments division located at 1350 Route 30 in North Versailles, 600 Market Street in McKeesport or 1100 Lincoln Way in White Oak; and Striffler’s Beloved Pet Memorial division is available for those families that are in need of pet burial or cremation services. For those families that desire cremation for their pet there is a large selection of urns and/or jewelry in the funeral home from which to choose. Striffler Family Funeral Homes serve ALL area communities and for convenience there are Striffler facilities in Dravosburg/West Mifflin, McKeesport, and White Oak. Striffler Family Funeral Homes serve ALL income levels, religious affiliations, heritage backgrounds and ethnic origins.
