Weslye was born in Gary Indiana, then moving to Durham NC for his middle school and high school years.

Weslye was a two sport athlete, playing basketball and football. Weslye lead the Riverside Pirates to the 2006-2007 NCHSAA State Championship game. Weslye's hard work and determination lead him to Columbia South Carolina to join the Gamecocks under head coach Steve Spurrier. Weslye posted great numbers while playing for the Gamecocks although his senior season was cut short. Saunders majored in Jo

urnalism with a minor in African American studies while at USC. He also joined Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Weslye was very active in the Columbia SC community through initiatives which support St. Jude's Childrens Hospital and a variety of other philanthropies.
