It does not matter what religion you choose to believe in, or even if you are a non-believer; you are not better than anyone else. We are ALL Divine beings having a human experience. I know some people bury their Divinity in layer upon layer of fear. Fear of how another person believes, looks, loves, and lives. It is time to remember that we are ALL the tabernacle. I had a conversation over the holidays with someone whom I consider intelligent and a good person.
However, this part of the conversation just blew me away.
They told me they have been running short-handed at work for the last six months or so, and it is a pain in their ass.
They told me that where they worked had hired a bunch of "brown people." ( lumping them as brown people was disconcerting to start with.)
They then told me they believed some of them were illegal. As they went on, they told me that ICE came in and took several of them away, and many were never to be seen again. Both illegals and non-illegals. ( Their words, not mine.) Then they told me that they were happy about this. Then they said. "I voted for that; those 'people' should not be stealing our jobs."
So PLEASE explain this to me. If all of this happened six months ago, why is your company running short-handed today? Where are the Americans who wanted to work at this company? Why are the positions not filled with American people now?
Unfortunately, this is the propaganda that we have been fed. Illegals are stealing American jobs. REALLY??? What happened to being compassionate? What happened to Do unto others as you would have done unto you?
I am not looking to start a political war here.
I really don't care if you are a Democrat or a Republican.
I don't care what your thoughts about Trump are.
I do care about right from wrong.
I do care if you bought into this horrible fear tactic.
I do care if you are a caring, compassionate human being.
I do care that you understand that ALL human beings deserve a chance to provide for themselves and their families. And I do care that we are treating some people like they are less than because of their color or national origin.
And I do care about your showing some compassion and understanding how difficult it is to work with some parts of our government's red tape.
I believe most people would be legal if the process were more straightforward. Have you ever tried to get something done with our government? I speak English and am reasonably intelligent, but I constantly hit roadblocks when I tried to get something rectified for my mother. Who, by the way, was a natural born American citizen as am I. It is a challenge with both Democrats and Republicans.
Come on, people, we are ALL created from the same Divine Source, no matter what name you choose to call it. We can do better than this.
We don't need to live in fear of people willing to work for a better life.✌️

Happy 2026.
Every new year, I pick a word that will represent my year. This year, the word is Meliorism. Meliorism is pronounced MEE-lee-uh-riz-um. We need to stop living in fear of our differences and learn to celebrate them. If each of us stops judging others and chooses at least one act of kindness, compassion, and love every day, we can make our world a better place.
