Operation Smile - University of Pittsburgh

Operation Smile - University of Pittsburgh Operation Smile is an international organization which strives to provide surgeries to children with In some regions these children are shunned and rejected.

More than 200,000 children are born with severe cleft conditions each year — often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. Most importantly however in too many cases, their parents can't afford to give them the surgeries they need to live a normal life. So that's where we come in as an international charity providing the vital surgical services. Since 1982, Operation Smile, through the help of d

edicated medical volunteers, has provided free surgeries to children around the world. As one of the most prominent children’s charities in the world and with a presence in over 50 countries, we are able to heal children’s smiles and bring hope for a better future. Our main mission here at the University of Pittsburgh is to educate and spread awareness about craniofacial abnormalities while fundraising to give kids in developing countries a future to smile about. Together we can make a difference!
