Heading back to school after summer break can be tough for some students, but this year is unique. Because of the pandemic, distance learning and hybrid schedules have been the norm for over a year, and many kids haven't spent a full, regular week at school since March of 2020.

Please be aware that behavioral therapies (i.e. ABA) is an evidence based approach to addressing ASD!

This is very important, PA legislators are wanting to charge loophole families for MA services.

This is very important, PA legislators are wanting to charge loophole families for MA services.

PA families- once again, those who "represent" our children and families in Harrisburg are trying to change PH-95, aka "Loophole", "MA", "Medicaid" to charge premiums or copays for medicaid. For most of us we already pay premiums and copays for our PRIVATE insurance, as well as for the many out-of-pocket therapies and treatments our kids need! "Loophole" exists to relieve families of the enormous financial burden placed on families by having one or more disabled children, by paying for the supports and services our private insurance will not cover! We CANNOT permit legislators to take this away- call your house reps and senators and tell them to STOP BALANCING THEIR BUDGETS ON THE BACKS OF DISABLED KIDS!
Here is the bill for those who are interested:

Why we must advocate for services into Adulthood and why programs like the Adult Autism Wavier program are necessary!

State-provided disability services often fail to meet the needs of adults with autism, according to a new report finding many with access to supports don't have any regular daytime activities.
