Many years in the making, our Yoga Therapy training officially launches this fall; it’s an 800+ hour training led by C-IAYTs Sadie Grossman, Megan Flinn and Kristen Formaini, supported by Maryellen Baverso, Alicia Broudy and other guest teachers.

A journey that takes place at your own pace over the course of two to five years, with rolling applications, our Yoga Therapy program is the bridge from traditional yogic teachings to implementation in the modern medical world. This program was created to build therapists with the intelligence and capacity to treat the whole human in front of them with dignity, care and consideration for all aspects of their health and wellbeing, constructing plans to guide them along their own path to greater ease in their minds and bodies.

We will accept two students every year on a seva/scholarship basis; one with a 30% and one with a 70% cost reduction; applications for this year’s positions are due no later than August 25, 2025.

If you’d like to be considered for one of these spaces, learn more about the program, or are ready to apply, you can find it all in the link in our bio.

All people deserve thoughtful, benevolent and respectful care. Let’s build a smarter and kinder world for our clients searching for a better way to health.

This program has been in the works for several years now, and we are incredibly proud and excited to launch it this fall and share the profession of yoga therapy with others.

Yoga therapists span the wide gap between western and eastern medicine, applying yogic principles and techniques to address clients’ physical, mental and emotional needs. They are highly trained in assessment, anatomy and physiology in both health and pathology, and apply the lens of the Koshas to address client health in a truly holistic way, fully able to integrate with their clients’ medical teams to create plans for whole human health.

Our program offers IAYT Yoga Therapist certification in a modular format over the course of 2-5 years, with students working at their own pace and consistently supported with group mentorship and applied practicum. Our program will officially launch this October; if you’re interested in diving in fully to this study of compassionate care for everyone, please join us for our free info session on Sunday, July 13 from 12:30-1:30, and bring all of your questions.

Let’s learn together and create a new web of healthcare support for everyone, one student at a time.

Endings, beginnings.
*
Though we may not understand them, they enter our lives exactly when they are meant to, and guide us along the path to arrive more deeply into ourselves.
*
We are so in awe of the beautiful community that Eva Trapp and all of the teachers and students at Sneha have created, and it is with much respect and gratitude that we accept their beautiful space this summer, and steward it into its new form:
One Point One Butler.
*
We’ll be moving the Annex down to this gorgeous residence in July, where we’ll guide our private sessions, offer a whole second schedule of classes, lead our Sadhana and IAYT accredited Yoga Therapy Trainings, and with a little luck and love, grow into a whole new iteration of this community.
*
Much more information to come as things unfold this month, but for now, so much thanks to those who have created pathways for us, who support us along the way, and who guide us exactly where we are meant to be.

Understanding skeletal relationships within the body is the first step in helping our students unwind patterns in their movement and posture that can cause pain and dysfunction, and may be keeping them from their optimal movement and comfort.

In Part One, learn the language of tilt, bend, shift and rotate to accurately assess the geometry and tensegrity of the body. You’ll learn how apply relational anatomy to assess common postural patterns in all planes of motion, see how the problem can be very distant from the area of pain, and begin understanding how to form a plan for our clients toward better movement and living.

Continue in Part Two, as we delve into our observations to form hypotheses and create plans to bring more symmetry, movement and comfort to your clients.

All students are welcome to both sessions, but Part One is highly recommended prior to Part Two for continuity and comprehension; if you’ve got some experience with myofascial lines and body observation, feel free to just jump in to Part Two off the bat.

Good for five hours of YACEUs or toward our 300 hour training.

A weekend full of gifts: to practice with peers, to question, to touch and create and laugh so, so many times. To have the grace and make the time to be together as teachers in learning, sharing, and always growing, both internally and together.

This does not happen just anywhere.

Thank you and and to our students, for giving us this precious time together. And to our teachers that create these spaces of joy and connection, thank you for sharing yourselves and offering your hands and eyes and hearts over and over again. To finish this weekend with the sound of your laughter echoing our walls is a gift.

Our first Jam of 2025 is Saturday, May 17, 12-3:30!
*
We’ll be focusing on STABILITY in this session: how we as assistants ground ourselves in order to offer deeper roots to our students.
*
Our first 90 minutes will be devoted to observation of each other in potential positions of precariousness, and a hands-on exploration of stabilizing techniques; we’ll take a mini break, and return to a room full of real students moving through a 60 minute class, with whom we can practice and hone our new skills in real time. A wrap up with student feedback and a look at any questionable shapes we might’ve come up against in practice, and we’ll call it a day.

In the gastronomic heart of the gorgeous city of Oaxaca, explore the beat of Mexico with Kelly, Brice, Alicia, and your fellow wanderers.

Warming morning Vinyasa with the sun on our rooftop, cooling afternoon practices to soothe and settle you post-siesta, a Oaxacan spread at brunch to nourish you daily before exploring the heartbeat of this beautiful city; grounded from the homebase of our cozy 14 suite hotel, all to ourselves but in the center of everything.

An adventure.

A delicious inspiration.

An exploration of culture with new and old faces.

Come wander with us next February.

We will be closing down the studio on Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend for our annual teachers continuing Ed, this year led by the powerful Sam Breschi; we’ll be diving deep into the spirit of Prana Flow and studying sequencing, fluid movement, and thai massage informed touch.

Friday night, however, you folks get the opportunity to have a sneak peek of what we’ll be learning all weekend, as Sam leads our community through a master class in the fluidity and strength of the body; it’ll be good for 300hr credit, for CEUs, and just darn good for folks in general. There’s a link in our bio to nab a spot.

An evening of movement, meditation, reflection, and ceremony to cultivate our intentions and harness the energy of the full moon. We’ll do some somatic movement to shake stuff up, land with a meditation and journaling, and incorporate a ceremonial component with a full moon intention alongside a slow flow asana practice, finishing up with restorative... with all proceeds going to Casa San Jose, representing, uplifting and supporting Pittsburgh’s Latino community.
