As a registered dietitian with a 40+ year career I can tell you making changes to eating is NOT easy, living with food and nutrition insecurity is HARD, food fear and dreadlines add unnecessary STRESS and body vilification is all too REAL. This is not fixed by food avoidance, supplements, unproven testing or wearables. The registered dietitian has the unique skill set to bring the knowledge of physiology, physique, practicality, and compassion to the conversation to gain rapport and build trust. Medical nutrition therapy is our expertise- we bring the insight and intuition into every recommendation. Thoughts?

There are not overnight changes nor immediate results and as a registered dietitian working with this patient population we need to clarify expectations, provide relevant explanations ,minimize apprehension and help patients redirect the motivation and behavior to focus on what they can with their eating and fitness plan .
