Your support matters. It’s because of people like you that we are able to provide for our neighbors in need.

Did you know that a $50 donation can provide bus tickets so our residents can get to work? Or that $25 can provide someone in need one night in our emergency shelter?

Whatever you can give, it all goes to support the work being done to end homelessness through Bethlehem Haven.

We see you. Let’s build a strong foundation together.

We’re preparing to vacate our Fifth Avenue location next month so that renovations can get underway!

With so much in motion, we kindly ask for your grace, patience and support. Due to the move, we are temporarily pausing in-house volunteering opportunities.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be working closely with those we have the privilege to serve to prepare them for this transition, as well.

Your notes, donations, and kind wishes will help them navigate this move and get acclimated to our temporary location in Shadyside, where they’ll be residing for nine months while Bethlehem Haven’s Fifth Avenue space is refurbished.

We will share updates along the way on social media and in this newsletter.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Thank you to our friends,Theresa and Robert Lee for dropping off gift bags for Valentine's Day for our residents. Theresa’s 92-year-old mother in Iowa made them for the ladies residing at Bethlehem Haven. We feel the love all the way from the midwest and appreciate everyone who shows our residents that they are seen and valued.

We see you. Let’s build a strong foundation together. To learn about more volunteer opportunities, visit our website: https://buff.ly/3tqVqiD

Our program SAFE AT HOME offers monetary and basic assistance to women who are homeless, or at immediate risk of homelessness, for the first time in their lives.

Priority is given to women over 50 years old with young children in the household. A small pool of funds can also be used for single custodial fathers.

Our impact in the community is tangible and the donations provided help people right in your backyard.

Bethlehem Haven’s shelter is on the front lines protecting people who are experiencing homelessness in the face of new challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cathy came home one day in March to find all of her belongings on the porch. Her boyfriend wanted to start a new life with another woman. She was blindsided. Her name wasn’t on the lease and he wanted her gone that day.

“I spent 20 years raising our children, taking care of that house, and now I’m homeless. We’re in the middle of a pandemic. I didn’t know what to do.”

Cathy came to Bethlehem Haven when she had no place else to go. Today, she is safely housed and thriving with a new job and her own apartment.

Cathy gives a lot of credit to Bethlehem Haven. We give all the credit to you. Your generous donations give women like Cathy hope.

We see you. Let’s build a strong foundation together.

Are you gearing up for Coldest Night of the Year? Join our get5 campaign!

The get5 campaign is the better, cooler, stress-free way to fundraise. Rather than setting a fundraising goal, set a goal of getting 5 donors!

Why five donors?
Because getting 5 donors makes you a fundraising hero. You're putting yourself out there in a big way and making your walk really count. You can't predict what your donors will give, but chances are your results will be fantastic! And if every walker like you gets 5 donors, the charity you're walking for will do great and get 5 times the attention!

Learn more about how to reach this goal, raise money for Bethlehem Haven all while having fun in the process!

: January is National Poverty Awareness Month

Why is poverty a problem in the United States? For many people living in poverty, certain human rights are out of reach. They may lack access to safe work conditions, housing, education, health services, or clean water and basic sanitation.

Safe housing is a key component to ending the cycle of poverty and providing an environment where people can work towards self-sufficiency.
