Time flies in ways you don't even realize right away.

I watched my nieces and nephews hunt for Easter eggs last weekend. At the same time I felt joy watching them, I found myself missing my older nephews we didn't see this year.

I can still picture them doing the same thing. Now...they’re grown.

It's one of the moments that makes you pause.

Time is precious and the older I get, I realize this more and more.

It's so easy to move through it without even noticing how you're spending it.

Once you move through it, you don’t get it back.

It's often the small things that take more of it than we realize.

Whether personally or professionally, keep an eye out for how you're spending your time. Get curious and protect it🧡

Celebrating Friday, this pup selfie because she never lets this happen, and THIS realization... ⬇️

I've realized I am not behind…I am building something brand new🪴

This transition…from one business model to another has come with a completely new identity, a new style, and a brand that actually feels like me and where I'm headed.

I can't even fully put the excitement into words. This new chapter has been beyond fantastic. But if I am being honest 🫣 …it hasn't looked polished to my “liking” just yet and not quite up to “Amy Standards." You are watching me build this in real time. The messy middle is out there for all to see.

My Instagram grid isn't quite where I want it yet. My posting hasn't been perfectly consistent. My website is still under construction. Wait…are these the same things that bother my clients? 😲 Yes.

And honestly, for a minute, I started to get in my head about all of it. But then I had to remind myself of something I tell my clients all the time: “once everything is streamlined, it starts to run like a well-oiled machine." It's the progress, not the perfection that matters🧡

Right now, I'm in the building phase, all the parts are moving behind the scenes along with my day-to-day client and project work.

And this realization also reminded me how much we tend to overthink and critique ourselves…when most people aren't looking nearly as closely as we think they are.

If you are in a similar season right now, here is what I've been reminding myself:
1️⃣ Pick one small way to show up this week (not five)
2️⃣ Let it be simple enough that you will actually follow through

I was thinking about this lately and wanted to share...

💭 "Most marketing stress comes from trying to do everything at once."

I say "most" because I'm observing clients struggling with this and it seems to be weighing them down. They're trying to check all the boxes at one time.

There are multiple platforms, multiple offers, multiple ideas.

I also say "most" because I felt this stress first hand, whether at our chiropractic office or when I was promoting my online wellness coaching. I was running myself ragged.

It became exhausting. I got bored doing it. And then I got frustrated when I didn't think it was helping.

I took a step back, reevaluated my strategy, and reprioritized my marketing goals. The stress lifted.

When you're trying to promote everything and be visible everywhere online, marketing becomes heavy.

If you’re doing it and it's working, I love that for you.

But, if your marketing is bringing you stress, it could just be some organization of what's already in place to allow you to breathe again and ENJOY marketing your business, NOT RESENT marketing your business🧡

Every year International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8. It's a day to celebrate women everywhere and their accomplishments, leadership, skills, and simply the perseverance to get through everyday life🧡

This week's celebration at the highlighted a panel of powerhouse Pittsburgh women who shared their own impactful stories of how and why they're where they are today.

Dinner, local business vendor shopping, chatting, and connecting with new and familiar faces was a fabulous way to celebrate this day.

Here's to women everywhere and the many hats they wear, roles they fill, and goals they achieve🧡

Most people think they need to start with platforms.

Instagram. Facebook. LinkedIn. YouTube.

Just like when you're building a house, if the foundation isn't sturdy, things are going to feel and look a bit wonky 🏚

When I work with overwhelmed business owners, we start with the foundation and build from there.

The order often looks like:
▫️Organize the content and ideas
▫️Clarify the message
▫️Identify the main offer
▫️Decide where to show up online

Once things start to become clear, marketing becomes much easier to share.

One thing I notice when a business feels scattered online is that they are trying to promote everything all at once.

When we try and promote everything, marketing starts to feel a bit chaotic 🤯

Just like we feel pulled in multiple directions, our messaging can be received the same way.

Our offerings and our services are our babies...and of course, we want to show them off!

But, when everything is being promoted at once, it becomes harder for people to know what we do and how we can help.

A little bit of this, and that, and this and even that can cause "your prople" to become overwhelmed and even confused.

Most of the work I do with clients isn't about adding more ideas...it's about organizing what's already there.

Once we figure out what should be in the spotlight right now, everything else starts to feel more manageable 😉

There's a difference between being busy on social media and being organized and having a system for social media...

Busy looks like:
🤯Posting because you have a few extra minutes
🤯Having ideas, but they're everywhere
🤯Posting "just because"
🤯Copying someone else's style
🤯Feeling overwhelmed even before you start

Structured and organized looks like:
🤗Knowing what you're promoting
🤗Referring to your list of ideas
🤗Knowing when to jump on a trend
🤗Allowing it to support you, not consume you
🤗Finding a comfortable rhythm that fits

One feels very stressful and exhausting and the other feels very calm and energizing🧡

My vote?! Calm, energized, and organized, please 🙋‍♀️

Social media doesn't have to feel stressful.

It becomes so much lighter and more enjoyable when there's direction and a plan.

Something I notice over and over when working with small business owners...

The overwhelm usually isn't about their effort.

It's not laziness.
It's not lack of motivation.
It's not lack of ability.

It's trying to show up, promote a skill, service, or specialty without a system.

When there is no system, everything feels like a "right now" situation.

When everything feels like it has to be done "right now", it feels overwhelming.

When marketing feels overwhelming, well...it's avoided, resented, disliked, and even forgotten.

Most business owners I work with are very capable, but the overwhelm steps in and takes over.

Marketing gets easier when it's organized.

Sound familiar? 🤔

You never know what's ahead or what's right around the corner...

And yes, this photo was the inspiration for today's reflection (more on that in a minute) 😉

I've come to firmly believe that every connection, every opportunity, and even every challenge happens at the appropriate time...and for a reason.

💭Did I realize this sitting in my college computer programming classes?
💭When I was working in private aviation?
💭Talking to patients?
💭Building businesses?

Back then? No.
Now? Yes. More and more with each chapter.

This mindset doesn't make hard days go away, but it does make them easier to manage. It keeps you open to new connections and new opportunities. Because something really great could be right around the corner.

Every client, every project, every opportunity reminds me of this.

Last weekend's outing in downtown Pittsburgh seemed like the perfect visual reminder 🏙 Busy streets around the corner. Blue skies. Thawing snow. A little taste of Spring!

However, just ahead...a snow-covered field at PNC Park.

What's right in front of you, doesn't always tell the full story of what's to come.

You never know what's ahead or what is waiting around the corner 🧡

Go through it to grow through it 🪴

There was a time where I truly believed that success meant looking the part.

✔️Posting constantly.
✔️Being on every platform.
✔️Keeping up with every method.

I even caught myself thinking our house didn’t “show” as well as the influencers I followed 🏡 That’s how wrapped up I was in the comparison game. Oh. My. Goodness.

But this is what I learned:
My business didn’t require that lifestyle. It required clarity. It required trial and error. It required finding systems that made me calm and happy.

I did have to push myself to show up more than felt comfortable to realize that's not what I needed.

If being everywhere works for you and you love it... go for it. This is just a lesson I'm passing along.

I eventually found my sweet spot and I’ll keep finding new sweet spots but my goal now is simple.

A steady presence that supports my life, my goals, and my stress level.

The year of the Fire Horse has me excited and motivated.

Happening once every 60 years, this year represents big momentum, bold pivots, risk taking that can pay off, and rapid professional growth, just to name a few. I'm here and ready for it.

Out of curiosity, I looked up my own birth-year zodiac animal (the monkey). What can I expect in 2026?
