Cancer Season reminds us that the chest — the space of the lungs and heart — is not just where we breathe… it’s where we live.
Ruled by the moon and connected to the element of water, Cancer governs the deep, felt experiences of the heart center — vulnerability, compassion, nurturance, and the need for emotional shelter.
The breath is our first giver and our first receiver.
Yet in modern life, shallow breathing is the norm, not the exception. The rhythm becomes tight, erratic, unconscious — much like how many of us move through the world.
But breath is special. It is both involuntary and voluntary.
That means you have a choice.
And in choosing breath, you choose care — for yourself and others.
🌀 Try this practice:
• Three-Part Breath — feeling each inhale rise from belly to ribs to chest, and each exhale reverse direction.
• Upward-Facing Dog, allowing your chest to open and your breath to expand.
• Lay back over a pillow or bolster in a supported chest opener
• Reclining twist, arms wide, breath soft.
These poses are about coming home — to your inner rhythm. To the place within the shell that needs just as much nurturing as what’s outside of it.
This Cancer season, give with heart — and receive with grace.
Start with one deep breath. 🌬️💗
