February is dental health month, but we don't want to wait to share vital information about our pets dental health, following this informative post are pictures taken of some of our patients before and after pictures, dentals done by Dr Mirro and our CVT Caitlyn who is amazing at her job and truly loves helping our patients have clean and healthy teeth and gums, even after, in some cases several extractions, her job is impecable and her patients go home feeling much relief much to the pet owners delight. Please understand how important dental health is for your pets and owners as well.

To my Riverside Family

This week, Riverside Veterinary Hospital is celebrating its 35th year, providing care to area pets and their families, supporting our community, and helping area pets in need through educational programs and helping local humane efforts. We have also recently completed our reaccreditation with the American Animal Hospital Association, putting Riverside in the top 15% of animal hospitals nationwide with our quality of care. We take great pride in both milestones.
On reflecting on this anniversary, I share that success with my wonderful team, led by new Medical Director Dr. Ben Mirro and Practice Manager Karen Weissert, and the many technicians and assistants who have made the practice a pillar of our community. They are the best team in the business, and it would not be possible without them. The other side of that milestone is that I am 35 years older, and as many of you know, my knees remind me of that passage of time regularly. I started teaching Veterinary Technology at a local university part-time a couple of years ago, and for the past couple of years, have split my time equally between Riverside and Penn West. I have been offered and accepted a full-time teaching position as Director of the Veterinary Technology program and will be leaving Riverside to take on this new role when classes start next month.
Dr. Mirro will take over ownership of the practice, and the same skilled, caring team that has always cared for your pets will continue to be here to meet your needs. It was vital to me that the practice remain privately owned, not to become part of an unfeeling corporate conglomerate as many veterinary practices have. I am thrilled to be leaving this business I built in the best possible hands, with the best possible people.
I thank you for the privilege of being able to get to know all your furry, feathered, and scaly family members, and I have been honored to be trusted with their care.
