Avalon Veterinary Hospital

I enjoyed the articles about cats on Petly.
Lost in Brighton Heights section of Pittsburgh. Please...look up!
Had fun putting together a fun morning for the techs at work today.
Bronco Rader is happy to receive great health care from the Avalon Vet Team!
Thank you for seeing Clemmy on Friday and easing her Mom’s mind. 💜🐾 We truly appreciate you guys!!
What may be fun for us, might not be fun for our pets.
Join us on Saturday, June 5, at the Avalon Veterinary Hospital for a Tulsa SPCA Adoption Event! Our staff will be on site to show off some of our adoptable dogs and cats. Stop by 710 S. 9th Street in Broken Arrow and meet some of our four-legged friends!
We created a memorial project to honor Dr. John P. Ruffing VMD c/o 84 (South) - pet food distributions. Our first distribution will be June 19 on the Northside of Pittsburgh.

I got an email about the move to 203 Highpoint in Seven Fields. That's awesome for you guys but unfortunately it seems too far for me. Im currently only 10 minutes away. New location would be almost a half hour. I know this office will remain open for awhile yet but will it stay open at all after transition or will this office eventually close for good? I really hate to switch vets but i may have too. 😭

Avalon Veterinary Hospital has provided Pittsburgh pet owners with high standards of medical care for over 50 years, and we appreciate the bonds we form with our clients and patients. Many of them feel like family to us!

Our veterinarians and staff are here for you - we promise to give your beloved pet the best care possible and always treat you with the respect and compassion that you deserve.

Operating as usual

As much as they may protest, taking your cat to the vet is a vital component to keeping your pet healthy!

Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. We're thinking of all the beloved pets that wait for us.

Your pet can be scratching for a number of different reasons. We can help your pet find relief. Give us a call to book an appointment!

Today's a great opportunity to make sure your pet's vaccinations are up-to-date! Consult with your veterinarian about which vaccines are recommended for your pet!

We are working through a phone system upgrade this morning that is causing a delay in return calls from our voice messages last night. We apologize for the inconvenience. Phones lines into the hospital will be operational at 9 AM.

Pets can fall victim to heat stroke without proper precautions in place. Keep an eye on your pet while they enjoy their Summer, and never leave your pet unattended in a car.

Each day we provide the very best medicine for as many pets as we possibly can. But we are human and have physical limitations. We recognize that sometimes means we send patients to emergency or offer to put you on our cancellation list. We know it is frustrating when your pet is overdue for services and we are booked weeks out. We are frustrated too! If we turn you away it is not because we don't care about your pets. It is because we are physically unable to see another pet that day. We are a small and dedicated team but we are struggling. We have zero tolerance for abuse, belittling, and badgering of our staff. We appreciate and expect your kindness, respect and patience. In return, you can expect excellence, understanding, and heartfelt, thorough care from our team. In a world full of hate, be the light of kindness.

So many pets, not enough vets. Longer wait times, longer call hold times, shortage of staff and increased su***de rates are just a few of the challenges veterinary clinics are facing today.

So many pets, not enough vets: U.S. faces veterinarian shortage If you've tried to make an appointment with your veterinarian, you've most likely been told it will be a long time before your pet can be seen. "There is a national shortage of veterinarians and licensed technicians, and people are waiting weeks - even months to get appointments," says Dr. Gail Schr...
