Today we have to work a lot harder to feel good because we live in a toxic environment.

A nutritional wasteland, where it’s hard to find anything that’s actually food.

But here’s what gives me hope: we’re waking up. A lot more people are reading labels, growing their own herbs on windowsills, and choosing farmers markets over fast food. Small farms are making comebacks, and even in food deserts, community gardens are sprouting up like resilient weeds through concrete.

We’re learning that real food doesn’t need ingredient lists we can’t pronounce. The human body is remarkably adaptive and forgiving.

When we feed it well, it responds with energy, clarity, and healing that can surprise us. Every wholesome meal is a step toward reclaiming our health, and every conscious choice creates ripples that influence our families, communities, and food systems.

Yes, we have to work harder now, but we’re also more informed than any generation before us. We have the knowledge, the growing networks of conscious consumers, and the increasing availability of real food options. What feels like an uphill battle today is actually the foundation for a healthier tomorrow.

We’re not just surviving this nutritional wasteland, we’re slowly but surely transforming it, one meal at a time.
