The R.M.Matovu Memorial Child and Maternal Medical Center is a proposed medical center located in South East Uganda. It will serve a rural population of 150,000 people, including 10 surrounding villages. Our mission is to make health care available to this whole rural community. Founder Annette Ndagano has a desire to pay it forward in a village where she grew up with no access to health services.
Named after Annette's late mother, R.M. Matovu, who was the pillar of their village. "It breaks my spirit to see that 52 yrs. later nothing much has changed. My mother died from a simple skin infection because she didn't have access to a 10 day course of oral antibiotics." This center represents what she stood for: that we all share and long for the same basic needs for good health, a long and fulfilling life, and everyone deserve someone to cares about and advocates for their health and our welfare. The RMM Child & Maternal Medical Center is dedicated to giving this vulnerable rural population accessible basic health care and providing preventative health services, including but not limited to immunization, prenatal care, STD screening (including HIV), nutritional education, and urgent care. Annette has been a Primary Care Pediatrics for 22 years. She's worked with both urban and rural populations but her passion is serving rural undeserved populations.
